I don’t think Santander gets a one year 15 million dollar deal right now regardless of age. He might be 4 years younger. He certainly doesn’t look or play it. Had every injury under the sun last year.

FFS man.  Just sit this one out.

I hope Santander never lets his agent pay for dinner again in his life. After what Geno got it’s crazy what he got last year,

Are you so soon to forget that Santander was coming off of a 44 home run career season and was only 29 years old?

This is such a strawman its not even worth engaging

Maybe they already know they saved 13M on Skubal in arbitration and can more easily afford it LMAO

Orioles whiff on Framber. Tigers emerging as a threat in the AL now though.

1. Tarik Skubal

2. Framber Valdez

3. Jack Flaherty

4. Casey Mize

5. Reese Olson

Best 1-2 in the game?

Def a rotation you don't want to face in the post season

It sounds like Jonn wants Santander fired into the sun.

In a perfect world yes.

I will do no such thing. Geno or Santander. Who would you rather have right now?

Love to see the O's whiff.  Tigers have impact prospects on the way as well.  They need to extend Skubal man.  Must.

Should punt Hoffman too while we’re at it

That is not the argument anyone was making though.

But actually that would be a decent bet on who will be a better bat next season…

Hoffman would be great in the 7th/8th inning role where you know if hes got it or not.

Its the 9th inning where you can usually tell he sucks and we gotta ride with him because hes our "closer" that led him to being one of the worst closers in baseball and set franchise records for the wrong reasons.

They're going to trade him I bet.

He's our closer with Yimi close behind...

I would have thought you would have learned something about your similar comments about wanting to fire Varsho and Yimi into the sun but apparently that's too much to ask for.

Don't forget Springer, lol

So can we officially call the Cease deal a win now?  We got him for 7/187 vs 3/115 for Valdez.

4/72 is a bargain from the 4th year onwards.

It was a win the second the ink dried.

David Peralta officially retired after not playing last season. Career slashline of .278/.335/.448 over parts of 11 seasons, winning one Silver slugger and one gold glove.

Peralta was originally signed by the Cards as a lefty pitcher, but was released at age 21 having never reached low A. He reinvented himself as a hitter, ended up raking Indie Ball, was signed by the D'Backs, and made his MLB debut the next season. Easily one of the best Indie League success stories ever

I LOVE stories like this.  How can you not be romantic about baseball?  What a freak athlete - very few people to ever walk this earth have the ability to be drafted as a pitcher, fail, convert back to a hitter (after likely 3-4 years of not hitting) and have a very successful major league career.  Much respect.

Hey I like Jeff Hoffman. He was great in the playoffs. That little midget barreled the only mistake of that inning. Blue Jays lost that game for many reasons outside of just Jeff Hoffman. Countless opportunities to add on runs and win the game late.

Varsho is just frustrating to watch hit and Yimi is injury prone only issues with them.

I don’t like one dimensional players like Santander: I have always been consistent with that. You guys don’t like that. I continue to not care lol.
