Ryan, Glauss, Overbay maybe forgetting a couple. The 2006 team played great just messed up short stop and for some reason their offense was inefficient. They scored 800 runs with stats that should have led to 900 2012 - track team and ancient knuckle baller. Not the greatest really. 2014/2015 - Donaldson, Estrada, Russell Martin, Devon Travis, Justin Smoak, Michael Saunders -- pretty incredible group jaysblue 1

Time to move Berrios with the free agent SP market so bare now Gausman, Cease, Bieber, Yesavage, Ponce is filthy. If any of these righties happen to have an off night, we turn to lefty Lauer for length out of the pen. Spanky__99, Wires, Orgfiller and 1 other 4

Im not sure the Jays are ready to give him a full workload. He threw 139.2 including MiLB, MLB and Post Season. He’s probably good for around 175 next year. BatFlip and Orgfiller 2
glory Old-Timey Member Posted December 3, 2025 Posted December 3, 2025 I doubt Yesavage starts anywhere other than the Majors as long as he's healthy. Lauer probably the long man. Either that or Berrios stays, Ponce is the long man, and Lauer is a leverage RP, but that seems like a bad use of resources. I have no idea how they could possibly move Berrios with that contract, but let's see what they do.
ValiantJaysFan Verified Member Posted December 3, 2025 Posted December 3, 2025 I might be more excited about this than Cease. Best case he’s our 4/5 pitcher. If tha doesn’t work out this guy could probably close games or at least set them up.

Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted December 3, 2025 Posted December 3, 2025 Our board Admin thinks Ponce is going in the pen lol. He had no shortage of suitors if anyone thinks he signed here to pitch out of the pen when almost anywhere he signed he surely starts you're crazy.

You are probably right, but there is a chance Jays play it conservatively and manage his innings, especially with the depth of pitching they now have.

I could see mixing in some sixth starter/BP days yeah
Jimcanuck Old-Timey Member Posted December 3, 2025 Posted December 3, 2025 I don't think Berrios is going anywhere, if he rebounds that's a heck of a 5th starter innings eater. JaysfaninFL and ComeTogether 2
Jays24 Old-Timey Member Posted December 3, 2025 Posted December 3, 2025 Have no clue how his game will transfer to the big league. Ill just see how the offseason unfolds because no clue what our rotation and the backend of the bullpen will look like. Just bring back Bo please and get a true closer. Seems like we might trade from a position of surplus to fulfill our needs ComeTogether 1

Omar Old-Timey Member Posted December 3, 2025 Posted December 3, 2025 Well kudos to Ponce for reinventing himself in the KBO and getting back in mlb. The contract of 3/30m is lifechanging. The Jays are definitely building up starting pitching depth in what they will likely transfer to a lighter workload across the season for all the starters so they enter the postseason completely fresh. Very strategic. This also tells me that Atkins has an exit plan for Berrios already. Got to be right?

I think they'll give him every chance to work things out. He was their best reliever by fWAR. Probably make the team and get a month to work things out and if he doesn't he'll work on it in Buffalo.

Yesavage pitched 140 total innings, he's built up for a full season's workload but will just need a bit of throttling back on workload at times.

I think if Tiedemann cracks the major league roster this season it will be as a reliever as he isn't built up to handle any kind of starter's workload.
Laika Community Moderator Posted December 3, 2025 Author Posted December 3, 2025 Yesavage: Splitter Gausman: Splitter Ponce: Kick change Bieber: Kick change Cease: was trying to learn Gausman's splitter last season Almost the whole rotation gonna be RHP with changeup stories
