The World Series has landed in Los Angeles.

Max Scherzer and Tyler Glasnow take the mound for Game 3 with very different October workloads. Glasnow has allowed one run in 13 1/3 postseason innings for a 0.68 ERA, striking out eight in back-to-back starts. He worked six scoreless frames in the NLDS and followed with 7 1/3 one-run innings in the NLCS, yielding a combined 0.60 WHIP over those two outings. His pitch mix this month has leaned on the four-seamer and slider, with the splitter showing as a chase pitch to lefties. The line entering Game 3 is 0.68 ERA with 18 strikeouts.

For Toronto, Scherzer’s postseason return came in the ALCS, when he held Seattle to two runs over 5 2/3 innings. His 2025 playoff line reads 3.18 ERA with five strikeouts, and he enters Monday sitting at 176 career postseason strikeouts, seven shy of fourth on the all-time list. That experience component is paired with a current-year profile that still features swing-and-miss four-seamers up and a slider that draws chases when ahead.

Through two World Series games, Toronto’s biggest swings have come from Alejandro Kirk, Addison Barger, and Daulton Varsho. In Game 1, Kirk singled to start the sixth-inning rally and later added a two-run homer; he also lifted a sacrifice fly in Game 2 for Toronto’s lone run. Barger delivered a pinch-hit grand slam in the sixth of Game 1, the first pinch-hit grand slam in World Series history. Varsho tied Game 1 with a two-run homer to center and was hit by a pitch in the decisive sixth that loaded the bases ahead of the breakout sequence.

Two Blue Jays who have not produced hits so far in the Series are George Springer and Nathan Lukes. Springer was retired in key spots in Game 1 and went hitless in Game 2 as Toronto managed only five hits against Yoshinobu Yamamoto. Lukes has not recorded a hit in either game. Toronto finished Game 2 with one run on Kirk’s sacrifice fly and saw its final 20 batters retired.

There's no secret how these teams need to play to win.

See who can execute their game plan better tomorrow.

Jays need to steal one at least to stay alive. Even though it's 1-1, this is a crucial game.

winning 1 is expected.  Even if the Orioles came to play this series they'd be expected to get 1.  We need to steal a 2nd one.

Bo will be in tomorrow's lineup according to JS

I'm still very confused why he wasn't in yesterday's lineup considering he both pinch hit and stayed in the game defensively in a losing effort. People want to talk about load management. What the f*** is he managing his load for lol. Season has less than a week left. All the games are infront of you. There is nothing else to prepare for. If he's healthy put him in the god damn lineup. IKF can't get anymore AB's in this series unless were winning in a blowout.

Time to whip out the road grey uniforms!

Every other uni has had its day in the sun these playoffs, so to speak.

Blue Alt Uni: 3-1 against the Yankees

After going 0-2 to start the ALCS with the Blue Alts, they switched to Powder Blues.

Won 2 straight with the Powder Blues. After losing game 5, they switched to the Home Whites for Game 6 and 7.

3-1 with the Home Whites, but can’t wear those on the road so the next obvious choice is the Road Greys!

Road Greys 2-1 record incoming

It's the WS my man, every game is crucial. I don't really understand why they swapped Max and Bieber though, I wonder what the reasoning is?

Sounds like if they go to game seven they don't want Bieber pitching it. Just a thought.

Yeah I don't want IKF facing Glasnow or Ohtani.

He's not healthy

IMO it's 100% on him - his choice.  He's soft or has low tolerance for pain/discomfort or some combination of the two.  Which is weird when you consider he played 159 in both 2021 and 2022 but then fell off after that 135, 81, 139 so maybe he didn't take care of his body, his conditioning fell off and now he's having a hard time getting healthy. ?

I'm not sure what you were looking at, but Springer and Lukes both had hits in game 2. Springer led the bottom of the first off with a double (and then got stranded).

And Lukes didn't start in game 1, plus he had a massive battle to force the BB RBI in the big 6th inning, and Springer had 2 basehits in game 1 as well, with a 171 wRC+???

Could be they don't think Bieber is recovering with 4 days rest.   Not sure if anybody has the stuff+ or anything for his game 7 start, but maybe Jays have some metrics that show he needs more rest right now.

I hate vague stuff like this.  Either don't say anything or say exactly what happened.   Speculation is that it must have been U.S. Border control in Toronto... right?  I have not flown out of Toronto to U.S. ever actually (do not live in Toronto).  However have flown from Calgary to U.S. just recently and U.S. border control was done in Calgary and was no trouble at all.

He is giving the impression that it was something to do with Canada, and the people who don't fly much out of Canadian airports don't understand U.S. customs operates out of Canadian air ports so whatever happened could very likely have been on the U.S. end.  Teams fly out of Canada all the time without trouble, so maybe there is an active FBI investigation into one of LAs players and that raised a flag (hey if Roberts isn't going to tell us what happened, then speculation is fair game).

If that was the plan we would have heard it from the yankees and Vlad would probably be in Guantanemo by now.  Maybe Roberts heard David Ortiz comment about the customs officer saying "yankees lose!" to him and is getting a bit paranoid.

Guy's playing with a torn ligament in his knee and getting called soft just blows my mind, man. lol... WTF?

I thought Leafs fan base was toxic.

They are in WS and they put down their franchise SS like that without any true knowledge of what he's dealing with.

I wonder what the plan is tonight.

This is not a good matchup for Scherzer. Anything could happen and he's a dog but on paper this version of Max Scherzer should get beat up by the Dodgers.

Maybe John Schneider has some tricks up his sleeve? Bringing in Lauer for Ohtani's second PA?

Scherzer+Lauer+Bassitt to try and get through six innings?

Have to get to Glasnow in any event. Probably need 6+ to win this.
