Someone here said Alomar got caught spitting on his hookers.  Context matters but I don't think we will ever have all the details like we did with Trevor Bauer for example, did he pay extra/consent etc.   So some people won't even consider his HR if they were making a list.

Ya well we are just ranking significant Blue Jays home runs, not player character.

One can't erase history.

Accomplishments on the field are only compromised if the player cheated, PEDs, garbage cans, or whatever.

Dude, it's 2025???  I witnessed the Alomar dong in a friends basement in Ajax, it was phenomenal if you were there. Springer's dong saved the season... and the key component to why we are here. True story.

I don't think people understand how intimidating the A's were in 1992 - especially playing in Oakland, Mark McGwire, Rickey Henderson, Eckersley and Tony La Russa.  for Alomar to hit that home run at that time on the road in Oakland is why I put it at #2

how do you know where I was lol?

This is why most know that these guys, Managers, need a little more gut punch, a game can be defining, whether right or wrong, fellas need to execute.

Yea. The view that picking relievers in a certain way will result in zero runs is weird. It's like obsession over batting order. Has way less impact than just being good when called on

Wow, awesome. Which one did you miss? Joe Carters WS winner?

Yeah I was only 5-years-old back in 1993 haha.

George Brett was intimidating in 1985.  Having his second best season 5 years after hitting .390.  Don Mattingly and Ricky Henderson and were intimidating in 1985 too having all time great seasons.   The Tigers were an intimidating team from 1984 to 1987.   Late 80s early 90s As may have been the best of the bunch, but beating an intimidating team in one important game was nothing new.  Going up 3-1 wasn't new.  It was only when actually beating the As that the monkey was off the back.   The moment it became possible to make the World Series was probably Maldonado's homerun in game 6 1992 ALCS to make it 6-0.   Pre-Youtube a lot of moments get lost that weren't late in the game.  That homerun was like Vlad's grand slam game 2 against the Yankees except bigger.

Springer and Alomar completely different feelings at least from my perspective.   They were the Blow Jays even still after Alomar hit the homerun.  No one knew if they could close it this time and they lost the next day.  After Springer homerun and Bassitt/Hoffman shut down innings series was over.  Springer's moment was the closing moment, while Alomar's was a step, the most important step but a loss followed the next day and still needed Guzman, Carter, Maldonado (and an important Olerud double) to finish it 3 days later.

Just off your Mom's tittie I imagine, lol. Yeah, we beat a very good A's team, no doubt. Springer prolonged our PS run, it was game 7 late. It's bigger in that context. A Vlad GS and that 3 run bomb were/are huge.

Interesting

I love how people are making a big deal out of him not being used to playing 2B when there's less athleticism involved than shortstop.
