Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted September 13, 2025 Posted September 13, 2025 Good Max today please. On paper the Jays should be a nightmare matchup for Sugano.

This seems to largely be dependent on how he's feeling physically on his start day. Hopefully the back issue is behind him sufficiently to allow him to air out his pitches fully.
glory Old-Timey Member Posted September 13, 2025 Posted September 13, 2025 DS in against a RHP instead of Loperfido. Online bullying works (or common sense prevailed, whichever you prefer). Jays24 1

Doubleplay21 Verified Member Posted September 13, 2025 Posted September 13, 2025 Quite surprised Davis Schneider in against a right hand pitcher. Why is Schneider changing his style ? The computer says left hitter.
Omar Old-Timey Member Posted September 13, 2025 Posted September 13, 2025 Glad Heiny is in today. Kirk needs a break. He looked terrible yesterday.
Doubleplay21 Verified Member Posted September 13, 2025 Posted September 13, 2025 The home run ball has plagued Scherzer. Maybe that is why Laurer is kept as insurance if Scherzer faulters.

G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted September 13, 2025 Posted September 13, 2025 Crazy how much better he's hit at home

Better defense and I'm not convinced there's much difference in the bat. Joey is rocking a near .500 BABIP with an ocean blue statcast page. Regression will hit him very hard. Clement going back to a platoon or non-everyday role makes more sense when Santander and hopefully Bo come back. Jays24 1

People jumped the gun with him a little too quickly, but his penchant for giving up fly balls and subsequent home runs is something that I'm not sure is going to change. I'm starting to feel more and more like Bassitt might be the number three guy.

Ideal situation would be if you could start Bassitt only at home in a series. He's looking like he may surpass Scherzer as the #3 guy. Too bad Lauer lost his mojo he had earlier as well, since he could have been a nice #3. Right now would line the rotation up as: 1) Gausman 2) Bieber 3) Bassitt 4) Scherzer Things could change however over the next two weeks.
Jays24 Old-Timey Member Posted September 13, 2025 Posted September 13, 2025 There's no reason to really project the rotation for the playoffs with how easily peoples opinions change after every start. Refency bias will win out during the last week of the season imo. neverbeenhere 1
