Little's splits won't mean much if he can't hit the strike zone. And that's always a big if. Yeah I get it you hate Little and post about it daily like he’s the worst reliever in the league when he’s been pretty close to lights out. You can run high walk rates when you K almost 14 per 9 Spanky__99 1

jaysthebest Verified Member Posted August 9, 2025 Posted August 9, 2025 Little's WHIP is 1.34. He is not a high-leverage arm anymore.

Brownie19 Old-Timey Member Posted August 9, 2025 Posted August 9, 2025 Despite some recent struggles, the Dodgers look like they are up for this series. We had Kershaw on the ropes before that Straw double play. That was rough. What an incredible matchup to watch. Both the old boys were dealin' like it was 2012 again. Fun to watch. Tough loss - Little needs to be better, but it's baseball, can't win them all. Great game overall - and welcome back Buck! Stangstag 1

Great play by Betts + then the homerun after to seal the deal.

Little certainly didn't do himself any favors with his command but his outing could have turned out a lot differently had the defense turned the weakly hit ground balls he induced into outs.

jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted August 9, 2025 Posted August 9, 2025 Definitely a nostalgic feel to the game yesterday seeing both Scherzer and Kershaw in an epic pitching matchup. Felt the Jays had Kershaw on the ropes a couple of times in the early innings. Strung together a lot of hits (singles) but could only plate one run. As the game was moving along, just felt that one run wasn't going to be enough. Unfortunately Jays BP collapsed in the 7th inning. Would have been nice if they could have kept it 2-1 or 3-1, though Little was erratic. Always a mistake to issue a lead-off walk the No #9 hitter. Still he's been one of the Jays best relievers this season, so give him a mulligan on this one. Some defensive blunders made a difference as well. The deflection that got by Clement, and think Bichette should have taken the guaranteed out at second base instead of going home throwing off balanced like he did. Otherwise, the game definitely had an October feel to it. Both teams were locked in neck and neck for the first 6-7 innings. Tough loss, but can't win every game.
