This is such an iconic and incredible pitching matchup tonight.  Absolutely must watch TV IMO.  2 legends of the game.  And it's the return of Buck to the broadcast booth?  Unreal.

We have a new rescue dog that we just adopted (foster fail of course) and she has 2 different coloured eyes, so of course my youngest wants to name her Scherzer.  I can't think of a better name!

Wouldn't Max be a better name for a dog?

She's a girl, so Max didn't seem appropriate. We like Scherzer or "Scherzy" for short.  The link is also much more obvious this way.

The first Max I think of outside of Scherzer is actually that redhead girl from stranger things. So it can go both ways. I like Sherzy though, that definitely works for a dog.

That's awesome, hope you're one of the first 40K fans to snag a Kobe Bryant bobblehead and do report on how it was...

Hmmm Freeland's sample size is small but he hasn't been very good so far. He doesn't project great either. Add in Conforto and whatever Betts is now and it's still a very formidable lineup and one of the best in the league, but it's not the 1927 Yankees that we were promised.

Bench is very average which doesn't help. Defense seems to rate pretty poor.

Rotation is getting healthy and starting to look stellar. Bullpen is getting hit with injuries but still decent.

what do you mean by Freeland doesn't project?  Dodgers take their time bringing prospects along - it's way way to early to draw any conclusions

I was alluding to Steamer projecting him for an 84 wRC+ this year.

And I'm not trying to draw any conclusions, he certainly ranks high on lists so there is something there, I'm just not sure this is the year. He was barely better than average in AAA and is whiffing like crazy with zero extra base hits.

I see where you're going with that, but a "Shersy" is a slang name for a female fitting sports jersey.

Wanna think about that every time ya call your dog?

What it means, how the systems spit out its projections, he isn't saying a top 50 prospect sucks, dude. lol... breathe.
