This series is an example of why run differential needs to be analyzed carefully and not just blindly followed. We have accumulated something like a +33-34 run differential in these three games alone.

Earlier this season the Yankees amassed something like ~+90 run differential in a sample of 10 wins. This made up the absolute bulk of their +100+ run differential which had everyone convinced that they were the "best team in the AL East".

Yeah there probably should be some stat that doesn’t include blowouts or at least position player pitching.

They really need to get rid of position player pitching. It skews hitting stats too which guys are getting paid on.

Methinks their pitching and hitting might be slightly more competitive.

Just a wee little bit.

Don't let common sense get in the way of having some fun lol

Gonna go against the grain with a different viewpoint.

Completely destroying a team is different from winning a 1 run game and tells you different things about a team's true talent level. Obviously not over a single game, but over a season yes. Over multiple seasons certainly.

Consistently outperforming your underlying metrics at a team level isn't a reproducible skill from year to year. If anything, it should encourage us to push all-in, as it is unlikely we will have this type of good fortune in future years.

Gausman pitched well and the offense destroyed the Rockies pitchers  I watched the post game for the Rockies lastnight and the manager was happy his starter pitched past the 5th inning. Talk about a bad team.

It'll be an interesting series. With Springer back, it's about as healthy as we've been all season. Not completely healthy, but pretty close.

This series will forever be known as The Denver Massacre.

Final butchers bill over the three game series:  45 runs scored, 63 hits (mlb record) only 6 runs allowed. Nothing like a trip to Colorado for a confidence boost.

SWEEP!!!!!!!!

I think it was nut huggers. Given your reading comprehension level I'm not going to try to go over this again.

I beg to differ as future years aren't predictable and there's massive salary impacts that'll change shortly with a team that spends money. Jays are above 500 in 1 run games and extra innings, what exactly are you pointing at?

Surprised that Seranthony Domínguez did not pitch. After a terrible showing  a reliever should pitch ASAP

With his command and the way the ball floats in that thin air, he probably would have killed a couple of poor Rockies players.

Vladimir Guerrero Jr's wRC+ 145, just sayin'

Worm killer has been hitting the ball pretty well in the second half. Better later than never.

Hopefully it's not just a hot couple of weeks. We need him.

Bo has been outstanding also.

They're are core, Vlad, Bo, Barger, Springer, Varsho with the rest of the platoon arrangements we're a contender.

Depends on our pitching.

If Bieber is Bieber.

If our new additions to the bullpen hold their own.

If Gausman and Lauer continue to pitch like this.

Yeah we should be.

I still think Santander is important even if most people don't care at this point.

Every injured player is important.
