Literally nobody?

That isn't true at all. Several people felt Barger wasn't strong enough defensively to play 3rd regularly.  I believe the #'s supported that last year, but clearly he's out the work in.  He's become a franchise cornerstone overnight.

I believe these are the waves of talent Atkins referred to.

This bullpen

DAMN

It’s getting tougher to see where an add to the bullpen is most beneficial. Might like another high leverage lefty to take the pressure off of little. Otherwise, health will likely dictate our need.

I like Barker's analysis

Yeah I don't mind Barker.  He's got the old country bumpkin thing going for him.

To be fair, it shouldn't take just about 10 years for the waves to start splashing.

The comedy aspect plays up as well, especially with the casuals.

It’s part of the game. It’s a team building thing. Obviously when you’re losing it’s cringe. But sometimes you just gotta suck it up and be a team player.

This was the old highlight that I rewatched lately and was referencing when I mentioned players looking almost sad during celebrations back then.

imagine, trying to put a home run jacket on Albert Belle or dumping a bucket of ice on him post game. I wouldn’t dare, but it would be fun to watch someone try.

There was a wave that arrived in 2019 but then it largely slowed down to more of a trickle.

The bullpen has been dynomite this series. Today was another impressive performance as Burr looked like he was right back to his bat missing ways from a season ago, the stud version of Little showed up today as the command was largely much better than recent outings and Hoffman shut the door in the 9th.

Only thing I can think of is Clement and Barger playing better than the guys they went out and got - Santander and Giminez

But not really an accident when you drafted and/or developed those guys.  Just nice to finally see some of the position players emerge.

George Springer didn't make the All-Star team. Somehow Julio Rodriguez .697 OPS made it over him. Its not even like Seattle needed a rep they have multiple lol.

I just realized Juan Soto and Seiya Suzuki didn't make it either lmao. Who makes these decisions.

And look at Springer go. 2.1 WAR considering his positional limitations is amazing.  (In reference to the table in your next post).

Michael Kay and the Yankees are so shook lol

What a spectacular douchebag! That’s the strangest ‘sorry’ I’ve ever heard. Let’s win this thing and hang on the rim for as long as it takes for Kay to lose his mind.

I;m pretty sure it's the players who vote for the reserves.

Read an article years ago where the writer stated that it'll take at least a decade for serious improvements to surface. He referenced the Dodgers from their almost forced sale, their reluctance to investing in development, the eventual sale to Guggenheim & the obstacles of overhauling the franchise into the powerhouse they've become. His take was that Rome wasn't built in a day & that we as Jays fans need to exercise some patience.

Not exactly my best attribute lol.

he's right in that there is still a long way to go before there should be any celebrations.  The rest confirm my hate for all things NY

The Jays were WELL overdue to have some good luck/outcomes.

The last two years were just a big fat pile of "what CAN go wrong, WILL go wrong"

This year has been refreshing so far.

Imagine how much further ahead they'd be if Vlad and Bo were actual superstars and not just lumped in with the rest of the 2-ish WAR players that riddle this roster.

He definitely seems to dislike displaying outward signs of happiness.

Going back to this, I'm not sure if people saw but he looked like he was in frustrated relief with himself after he hit the home run, like a "f***ing finally" type reaction.

This isn't true - like at all.

It started with Vlad, Bo, Teo, Gurriel, then Manoah, Kirk, Moreno (who became Varsho), now it's Barger, Clement and a pile of bullpen arms with a farm system that is stacked with high upside starting pitching.

I know it's been frustrating - that second wave seemed like it was a dud, but prospects aren't always perfect and development isn't linear. It's unpredictable at best.  It's a lot of fun to see so many home grown players contributing these days.  Keep it coming Ross!

Definitely a long way to go, I just think Kay got it wildly wrong. Jamie Campbell was giving high fives for sweeping the Yankees in Toronto for first time, he wasn’t the planning the World Series victory parade.
