He's batting where he belongs right now until he gets hot to move ahead of Springer.  Varsho is 6th strictly because of Schneider's obsessions of splitting up the lefties.

With Lauer eating up 4.1 innings, I think saving Turnbull for Saturday makes more sense. Francis stinks and isn't likely to go long in that game so they'll need a mop up guy.

I did feel like it may be smoke and mirrors but by the same token I absolutely thought he earned a spot in the rotation because he did. That has nothing to do with Yarbrough. We needed the depth.

As an aside, I don't think anybody was surprised that Francis came back down to earth. I think most of us felt he was operating above his skill level.

I think they give Francis one more start.  If he shits the bed they move Lauer into the rotation (or my preference move YRod into the starting rotation).  If Francis does well they take it start to start.  Maybe Mad Max comes back in July?
