At least the new forum looks great.

Great forum and great stadium upgrades. Maybe next we can get a great team.

Maybe great management also, shoot for the stars.

Haven’t been able to watch the game. How did the OF do? Looks brutal on paper.. Or did they not have any chances since the balls were over the fences?

Outfield is fine so far. Springer made a nice diving catch coming in on a line drive, difficult play.

Jokes aside Jose Berrios is dogshit as far as "opening day starters" go Eflin was always the heavy favourite.

Sigh.

Why not Gausman? Kind of disrespectful to give the OD nod to the guy who is your 4th or 5th best SP.

Were you expecting John Schneider to make good decisions this year?

It's one game so pointless to draw any sort of conclusion over it, but Berrios is definitely someone I'd worry about, and this is dating back to last season. Feels like he's heading towards "league average innings eater" rather than something closer to a mid rotation starter, and that's not ideal. Again just one start but people have had this concern about him for a bit.

Pretty much how I've seen him after the 2021 season. He's at best a #3.

Love our pitching approach today!  Have every pitcher throw it right down the middle.  I'm perplexed that plan didn't fool them or work.  Maybe try it again tomorrow, no way will they expect that 2 games in a row.

All hitters in the lineup are projected for over 100wRC+. Not many teams can say that. The lineup is perfectly acceptable for a competitive team

It's possible it ends up that way, but there's still a very noticeable lack of power. Teams who finish in the top 5-10 in home runs every year are usually playoff teams, and there's a lot of non-power hitters in the lineup. Probably too many. In hindsight I kinda wish they went with Barger at 3B (bad defense and all) because you can at least dream on a bit of power developing (as long as Donnie is not allowed anywhere near him). A lineup with Clement, Kirk, Wagner, a washed Springer, Gimenez, and Roden (not a power guy) is too many spots without legit power. Varsho coming back at least helps in that regard.

The O's are just a much better team, we saw this coming years ago boys. Maybe the 4 people in the 500 level restaurants are enjoying the game.

My dude its 1 game

I want to thank Atkins for a great off season and the improvements over 2024.  Without Giminez they would have been shut out.  Future is bright.    yes I am being coy.

Yariel 5 more years of middle relief eww

I had to look this up because that amount of years scared the crap out of me. Turns out it's 3 more years and then a player option at $6M which if he declines turns into a $10M team option, so most likely 4 more years. Might end up being a solid RP but yeah not a good contract unless he morphs into a high leverage RP at some point. I don't think he's a SP long-term.
