...tell us what you think a shamble is

Shambles means a state of disorder. Aka not able to process how good he is in this moment. But yes assume I meant it negatively. Everyone else does.

Yes we should be quite happy.

Classic Jonn.  He cheers against our own players so he assumes that the rest of us are also whiney, wet blankets.

Who do I cheer against? I'll wait but answer quickly because this is already a completely baseless post with zero merit.

Yeah, if Roden wins AL ROY and Orelvis smacks 20+ dingers I'm gonna be sooo pissed.

I swear to god this place is a hive mind lol. First day on the internet.

Yeah I don't get why anyone would be in shambles. I don't even recall any major criticism sent his way either so this is just a puzzling post. I'm a big Roden supporter personally and I think he's the player with the best shot of providing any level of impact in the upper levels of the minors based on his toolset.

I mean it would help not to automatically assume what I meant was any indication of negativity. Literally been talking up Roden the last 2 Seasons. It's like when I say anything here its the herd of the same people who just find any narrative to try to s*** on me for absolutely zero reason outside of being complete douche bags.

It is not my fault people can't understand internet lingo. Nowhere was it indicated that I had anything bad to say about the player or anything else. And yet here I am again with multiple quotes of negative BS for something I didn't even intend to being negative. It's so exhausting man.

Jonn - glad to hear you meant it in a positive way.  I don't know what Internet lingo you're referring to, but in English:

Meaning of shambles in English

a state of confusion, bad organization, or untidiness, or something that is in this state: After the party, the house was a total/complete shambles. Our economy is in a shambles. The way these files are arranged is the biggest shambles I've ever seen.

sham·bles

noun

plural noun: shambles

1. informal

a state of total disorder.

"my career was in a shambles"

I think you could have used a better word.  But - I too think it would be incredible to see Roden breakout.  This org needs it.

Dude just take your lumps and move on. You said something dumb and got called out over it. Your attempted dunk ended up with you slamming the ball off of your own face.

It's not helping your case by trying to claim you are using some sort of newfangled "internet lingo".

Who was I trying to dunk on? I literally said nothing directed at anyone.

What case? What are even talking about lol. You act like I actively attacked the Message Board as a whole,

Dude, you made a grand declaration about how people on the board were going to be in shambles. I have no idea whatsoever who this was supposed to be directed at. Maybe you'd like to expand upon this a little bit but it appeared to be directed at an imaginary Alan Roden detractor that doesn't really seem to exist.

I guess I have to spell things out for you, which honestly isn't surprising based on the types of wisdom nuggets that you constantly bless us with. You are obviously attempting to save face after making an embarrassing statement and are fooling literally nobody but yourself.

A grand declaration? Really? Dramatic much lol? You’re the one blowing this completely out of proportion. If you don’t know who it’s directed at or what it means. Why are you so personally upset by it? Just move on with your life. You literally start a fight with me for zero reason in every thread. Ignore list exists. If my “wisdom nuggets” bother you so much either use the feature or just ignore my posts. Otherwise kindly f*** off,

I have zero interest in interacting with you moving forward.

C'mon Jonn, that gif was awesome, lighten up. It'll help you reach shambles.

You don’t say it that literally lol. Apparently I’m not in my safe corner of the internet where it makes sense. But in the way it’s used (mostly in gaming) it means not able to process, didn’t see it coming, shocking outcome. But hey my bad,

CF Daulton Varsho
Injury: Right rotator cuff surgery
Expected return: Early 2025; Opening Day in question
Status: Varsho has been facing live pitching and taking BP at max effort, but throwing will be the final challenge. He's expected to get into game action soon as a DH, with Friday a possibility, per manager John Schneider.

I didn’t even think Varsho had a chance to be healthy for Opening Day. The fact that he’s going to get in game at-bats already bolds well in his recovery,

Obviously getting him back in CF is the priority.

Well to be fair you did suggest that Varsho should be fired into the sun...😆Joking Just Kidding GIF

I mean watching him hit sometimes is painful. Fire out of cannon and land in CF. Happy compromise?

I'm actually low key a little bit worried about how his shoulder bounces back from the surgery. He's not blessed with the strongest throwing arm to start with and primarily relied on getting rid of the ball quickly with great accuracy. Losing any zip on the arm could force him to play primarily left field. A greater concern of mine is whether the power output is affected, as he could very quickly become useless at the plate if he can't even produce decent power output.

are we all though really?

The board has been a bit of a nuthouse at times this offseason. It's perfectly understandable as many here are completely stressed out and people are at each others throats even more than usual. It's interesting that there are some loose factions that have formed over the offseason as well.

I understand the concern and only time will tell how the injury will impact him long term. My brother and I were talking about this the other day. Even without throwing he’s still a phenomenal route runner and gets elite jumps on the Baseball when it’s hit. Whether hes 100 percent or not he’s still a massive asset in CF. And I doubt they would be letting him play in games at this point of Spring if there were any concerns of a set back. His 20-25 Homerun is important to this lineup as well, And ofcourse he doesnt get on base a lot but hes an excellent base runner when he does.

Jonn, this is a much better take than your constant “I want to fire him into the sun” drivel.  He IS a massive asset in CF and hopefully a 4 WAR season is incoming.  The bat can be frustrating at times, but that kid hustles and works.   If healthy, he will probably be the most valuable position player on the team aside from Vlad.

He’s been basically a 5 Win player twice now. I don’t even think he’s been the best offensive version of himself with the Jays. 4 wins with almost his Defense alone might be his floor.

As for the fire into the sun comment. That really was an emotional reaction to some bad at-bat. I did say it though so I will own it. With that being said I obviously want Daulton Varsho to be healthy and the best version of himself. I will also admit I tend to get attached to our prospects at times. Gabriel Moreno was tough to part with even with the concerns he would never hit for power. I think looking back 2 years both  teams benefited from trading from a position of strength at the time.

Crazy how the Jays went from basically having 3 Starting calibre catchers to now its Kirk and not much else on the horizon. Kirk is very important to this team and until framing is ultimately eliminated by robo umps it’s invaluable to steal as many strikes as he does. Plus I think we all believe there is way more with the bat. Seems like his Power is returning this Spring. Looks in better shape as well.
