A split between these guys in the Bos/NYY series would be swell, at worst a Boston 3-1 series win would work.

Either would be good

A Yankees sweep would be the only terrible outcome really and that's horrendously unlikely in a 4 game series

I guess they aren't planning on keeping Adley long-term?

I could see some team trade for him this offseason and the O's get a pitcher in return. Adley could be a change of scenery type of guy.

Don't think they keep him around to DH, but who knows.

Sox win game 1, let's see if they can actually split this thing (or take 3)

Should be a fun series to watch this weekend.

Same with the Dodgers/Padres.

Can Basallo stick at catcher?  I thought his defense was way behind the bat and that he might move to 1st (but that's scouting report is probably 1-2 years old in my head)?  Perhaps the struggles Adley's had with the bat have the O's keeping Basallo behind the plate longer than expected?

But what it up with Adley?  He just continues to decline with the bat and is already 27.  It's not completely the same, but this reminds me of Matt Wieters a bit.  Can't miss catching prospect who never really develops with the stick.

Matt Wieters 2.0

Wasn't he the savior of saviors when he arrived? Baltimore fans were lining up to lick the sweat of his balls after he was called up

Posting up 5.6 and 5.5 WAR seasons in your first two years is nothing to sneeze at. Blue Jays fans or any teams fans would be doing the same thing lol.

Padres bullpen with a lead from the 7th inning on: watch out! Adam, Miller and Suarez is definitely a nice trio.

Suarez got to earn this save.

That ball Ohtani hit would have been a HR at any other park. He crushed that. As well, if Freeman hit that ball harder into the corner, Betts could have likely scored.

Suarez has been a bit rocky against the Dodgers this season. He's had a really solid season to date, but still not 100% sold on him as some other guys.

Best bullpen in the MLB and it isn't close tips, lol.

Ok knucklehead.

Never said anything bad about their bullpen as a team. Read my previous post. I just said I'm not completely sold on Suarez as a closer in comparison to some other guys. Heck I even think Mason Miller is their best arm, but not going to mess with roles at this point now in the season.

Statistically speaking how has Miller been better or more valuable than Suarez? Morejon, Adams and Estrada have a better case than Miller so far this season. By both fWAR and RA9, they have 5 guys in the top 25 is what I was referencing to, you were wrong. Knucklehead... and the ball Ohtani hit only goes out in 1 park, no double defense took care of that hard hit ball.

Statically speaking this season, Suarez has put up better numbers. Then again, I don't buy into Suarez at 34 being this good all of a sudden and like this moving forward. I still would take Miller over him. Miller is still only 26 and his K/9 is far superior. BB/9 is a bit on the higher side in comparison to last season.

If Suarez repeats this season again and shows this form over 2-3 seasons in a row, then sure!

Suarez vs. the Dodgers this season: 7.36 ERA with 2 losses. Small sample size yes, but it seems like the Dodgers have his number and we know when it comes to closers, physiological factors can definitely be at play.

Also, never said anything bad about the Padres bullpen. Though sure, put words into my mouth in order to fit your narrative and for something for you to argue about!

Megill blew the save vs the Giants last night too. I think people have extremely unrealistic expectations on closers. They aren’t gonna be perfect
