Yeah it's much better. Still don't care for it but you can see all the design improvements. The Mexican one must have just been an early concept.

- number on front

- swoosh is not yellow

- lettering bigger, better

- navy instead of black

- skyline colouring and detail better

They all pretty much suck so maybe I'm subconsciously grading on a curve but I do like them.

I can't think of any city connects that would rank higher for me off the top of my head.

They are waaaay better than whatever was leaked. I think they look awesome. Navy blue instead of black is perfect.

Nats cherry blossoms ones are amazing

Cincy

Seattle

Braves

Brewers

Padres

Rays

Are all decent but the Rays and Padres are pretty loud

There are a couple of updated rankings that include Toronto's. We're ranked 15th and 10th. As you can see, the rankings are all over the f***ing place and generally meaningless. The Bleacher Report article shows pictures of all the jerseys, so you can compare yourself (USA today makes you click on twitter links - so it sucks).

I noticed upon closer inspection that the skyline is actually different. Buildings appear taller, but also the placement of Toronto looks lower on the official jerseys than it does on what I assume was a bootleg.

They made all the lettering like 50% bigger

So there's a couple of factors that go in to grading these I think. First is that they should look good. Second, is that these are City Connect-themed so they need to genuinely tie in to the city.

Some of these cities are real shitholes so it's going to be tough for them. But here's how I would group them:

Genuinely unpleasant to look at:

Phillies, Pirates, Cardinals, Red Sox

Bad and failed the assignmentt:

Orioles (city is a shithole so they were fighting an uphill battle from the start), Giants, Dodgers (so lazy)

Bad but at least understood the assignment:

Marlins, Cubs, White Sox, Tigers, Mets

Mid bc of looks or city connection:

Guardians, D-Bags, Reds, Mariners, Rangers, Rockies, Astros, Marlins, Brewers, Royals

Decent but pointless:

Braves, Angels

Look decent or better AND passed the city connection assignment:

Jays, Padres, Rays, Nats

What makes these so bad in your eyes? At least they match the team colors, the designs are fine.

Pittsburgh: The bright yellow doesn't do it for me. As for the PGH, it's like someone just took the airport code (even though it's not the airport code) and slapped it in oversized font on the front.

St. Louis: The fonts don't work. "The Lou" is slang but it's still in that classic font so it clashes. The font on the hat is a different font than what's written on the jerseys so that clashes too. Then you have two different references to the city of St. Louis (The Lou and STL) so nothing about it is consistent. It's just a really messy version of what they already wear.

Baltimore: All black with an ominous BALTIMORE in white. It's just so incredibly basic that you could design it in Microsoft Word. I know they added some color to the inside of it but it's just not enough.

ChiSox: Generally, with baseball unis it seems like pinstripes are used with a white base color. When it's black with white pin stripes it looks like a cheap mob lawyers' suit and not a baseball uniform. Then they just jumble "South Side" into "Southside", make the first S gigantic and then cram the rest of letters onto the front of the jersey. The S is massive and the rest of the letters are tiny so it just doesn't look symmetrical at all.

I'm finding these jerseys don't photograph all that well. The blue doesn't really pop like it should, so the skyline just kind of blends in.

Yeah, they look really nice up close, but they don't show well on TV. The design is good, they just need some tweaking.

If they are going to do these ridiculous things, given that our "city" is basically Canada, they should've had a landmark from all the major cities across Canada along with the dome and CN Tower.

I was at the game on Sunday and I just say the City Connects were hot, hot, hot. There is an entire store dedicated to selling all the connect merch and TONS of people were buying that stuff up. I got my kid the hat and he loves it. What I also noticed is there were as many Varsho and Schneider jerseys being worn as Bo/Vlad.

I'm in the SkyDome for almost every home game. From where I sit they look mostly black... and red, no white.

Toronto's color's are are blue and white, not black and red.

We're the Toronto BLUE JAYS not the red-wing blackbirds.

Red is the color of the enemy... Boston Red Sox, Detroit Red Wings, etc. The sleazy attempt to shove red down our throats is all about the logo color of Ted Skydome's cable TV and cellphone company.

Maybe I'm old-fashioned but I prefer white for the home team and grey for the visitors.
