I'm qualifying my yes in that I think the blue should have been been brighter. Darker blue on black doesn't give enough contrast.

 

I like the red though, it pops nicely, especially with the red sleeves

The whole concept has been a mess from the start and that's no different with the Blue Jays. Hopefully they end the failed experiment after this season.

You need to remember that most of us are probably not the target audience. I asked my 14 year old kid and he thought they were fire.

I don't know if this kind of thing is the best route for a team that gets the majority of it's revenue from outside of the city and resides in the least liked city in the nation. That's why they always push a lot of the maple leaf stuff that people in Toronto hate.

 

That being said, the impact is probably negligible and MLB certainly made them do it.

You honestly might be color blind if you think that leaked Mexican bootleg was a good representation of what we actually ended up with. On top of it that picture looks like it was taken with a 20 year old Nokia.

The design is the same though lol. You could tell the colors were off (because of lighting) because the leaked hat and leaked jersey looked like different shades.

 

Jersey is still crap even with the “good” colors. The design sucks and black being the main color is boring.

It’s cool if you don’t like them but I think colors make a huge difference. Sometimes color schemes are the most important part. The leaked pic had muted yellow and orange colors which stunk. The true colors are better.

 

And it’s not a black base it’s actually a very dark blue. I think it’s cool because it kind of makes the brighter blue look a little purple ish at times and the red looks a little bit pink. The helmet is apparently matte. I haven’t seen it yet but that could be a nice touch.

I think they could have just made them navy with purple and pink highlights if they wanted. But I get why they went with the colour scheme they did. While I think it does look better than the leaks suggested, I just don't think it's a good design. And I'm concerned they still won't look that great when under natural lighting.

The motto, the T image and the "city at night" vibes are a clever ode to the city of Toronto. No real "Insta" or whatever social media knob slobbering really. Just some imagery that is reminiscent of TO landmarks and history.

I'm just a regular Canadian in that regard. I love the Blue Jays as much as anyone, but it's universally regarded as the worst place to be in the nation.

I personally thought they were OK when I saw the initial leak (although I didn't love the hat and still don't) but seeing them with better lighting and the red accents (espeically this) really changed my opinion of them more than any marketing video or materials have.

OK man - we get it - you don't like them. But it's disrespectful to suggest this is a lazy and uninspired jersey. They didn't put this together in an afternoon and call it a day. You an tell a ton of effort went into it - even if you don't personally like it. You sound like someone who looks at art and says "pffff, I my kid could paint this, it's garbage?"
