Do you think those 9 run outbursts were an indication of their true talent level or do you think it was a bit of an anomaly?

We are 17th in wRC+ (7th in '23) and have scored more runs than only CWS in all of MLB.

Lack of power? Bad luck with RISP? Mind boggling.

Roster construction counting on offensive resurgence from Springer was never wise after his '23, when he actually stayed healthy.

Turner is 40 and the risk of falling off a cliff at that age is big. I'm surprised he projected 105. Are they THIS bad? Don't think so.

I think Schneider will be fired if we don't win at least 4 of next 7. It won't change anything, but Ross will offer up another sacrifice.

This.

Jansen (182 wRC+, 1.4 fWAR) and Schneider (130 wRC+, 1.0 fWAR) need to be in the lineup everyday, no excuses. To get Jansen's bat in the lineup everyday, would reduce his workload behind the plate where he maybe starts once or twice max per week. Would rather have Kirk in the lineup and behind the plate with Jansen DHing instead of having Turner/Vogelbach at DH.

Vladdy looks like he's coming around (133 wRC+) and I expect Bo to turn things around as well. Varsho has been a stud so far (1.7 fWAR). IKF surprisingly has been decent and has held his own.

This team needs another bat or two with pop who they could plug into the two corner OF spots. Again, this was the issue heading into the offseason and it could have easily been addressed with a flooded market of corner OF's available. Now the Jays need to go the trade route. KK needs to be regulated to a 4th outfielder role where he plays occasionally in CF and is used as a defensive replacement late in games. Only want him getting around 300 AB's and nothing more. Springer needs to be moved down to the bottom of the order (7 to 9 spots) and gotta hope he could start hitting soon. If not, bench him or do a phantom IL stint.

I would DFA Turner at some point if he keeps hitting the way he is. Regardless, he should be on the bench and Jano should be getting majority of AB's from the DH spot.

I don't think Jano being an every day player is possible. He will always get injured someway somehow. I think he needs at least 1 off day a week. His career high PA in a season is 384 and he's never made more than 94 starts at catcher in a season.

You were pretty much absent before they exploded against the White Sox.

I was on a trip in the DR and returned holding firm that this team blows and should be blown up. Your obsession with me is sad and creepy.

We don't have a choice. DH or C he needs to be in line up while he is hot. If we don't climb back into this race, he is gone anyway at deadline.

Lack of power for sure. Can we chalk up the RISP failures to bad luck again or are these guys mental midgets.

There were enough examples of this kind of output (something like scoring 9 runs 4 times in 10 days) that it's not a total fluke. I still don't necessarily believe the nearly worst in MLB offensive output is a true indication of overall talent level, unless both of Springer and Turner are completely cooked as productive hitters. The team constantly has several hitters simultaneously in deep slumps, and on top of that a manager that refuses to make the needed changes to mitigate the issues caused by the slumping players.

I don’t believe they are the worst either. I also don’t think they’re much better than bottom 10 if any

Again, kind of the same thing as 23… you need to look at the Jays park factor. Then conclude if it’s the park itself, or is it maybe the good pitching they’ve gotten with good defense behind it, and the s*** offense of the Jays that’s hitting, which bring down the scoring.

Based on historical data, and even considering the fence adjusts…a ++ hitters park isn’t going to become a pitchers park for some fence adjusts

lulz ^^^^ Yet doesn't pass Tom Tango's, oh yeah, you believe he's wrong with connorp math and algorithm's.

He actually didn’t say what you think he did, dipshit. Park factor didn’t include road stats. So you couldn’t say maybe the Jays are just s***** hitters. An algorithm is just going to look at the scoring and not take into account most of what I said.

Edit: well this was in ref to wRC+ for hitters, but I imagine same applies on team level

2% Noise... IE; 2 runs max either way. You're just an invalid.

5 games of 9 and 11 runs in 10 games, just saying...¯\_(ツ)_/¯

We are closer to the A's and Angel's than we are to the third wild card seed, which is the only one we'd even have a shot at.

The best you can say is there's only 3 games seperating the batch of non playoff teams and us. But that's not much comfort given how many there are.

It's beyond stupid to chase the possibility of the third wild card while competing with six teams that are ahead of you honestly.

The ship has sunk. Our inability to even beat mediocre teams is enough evidence of that. Time to acquire pieces for a rebuild.

Wish we had more blue chip prospects to get ourselves going for it but Atkins has failed to draft and develop so we'll have to restock through trades.

Its not really agony anymore, I pretty much expect them to lose every game unless they’re leading like 5-0 or something.

I’ve made peace with the fact that this is likely a lost season.

It's hard to feel any emotion with this team stuck in purgatory. I felt no excitement with the go-ahead home run today and I felt no real frustration when they blew it. I'm kind of numb to them at this point. It's exciting when you're a contender, it can also be exciting when you're rebuilding if you see future stars emerging in big moments. But very little is exciting when you're stuck in the middle.

Yeah, definitely checking the box score and that’s about it. They’re going to lose a lot of the fair weather fan’s interest. They’ll still have their Max’s though being like “you’re not real fans anyway, get off our f***ing lawn”

yes i reached that last year, though watching was affecting me badly when i kept seeing the horrible way this team was managed, how any life was sucked out of the players .

I am on record to being one of AA's biggest fans, so for sure, i was looking for them to fail, though my inner fan hoped that i was wrong. removing berrios last year was the nail in the coffin, this was not the baseball i spent 50 years loving. It is not the losing, as i followed losing teams with a passion.

simply put a team ran by these guys, i cant not have any passion or love.

not only fair weather, i used to avg 10-15 games a year at the stadium, and watch a minimum 75 pct of the games on tv. even bad years, i would watch the prospects come up, hope for the future. Heck this year, i did not even watched a single full game.

Fans at the dome don't really boo when they should. What they do is just not go to games if the product stinks. We could be back to 20k per game in a hurry. It's just the way it is in this town (the leafs are an exception because the suffering is part of fandom). If that happens, Shapiro might be gone.
