I HATE Joe Siddall

I am brand new here, I haven’t read any posts, threads, comments i don’t even know what most of those are. I’ve come here because I need to vent my hatred of Joe Siddall and want to know if I’m alone on this or are there others who agree. Granted I cannot remember a time when it was not Buck announcing games, I know there’s been others but honestly I can’t remember what they sounded like or the kind of job they did. My point is I’m pretty biased in thinking buck is basically God. Is anyone else sick and tired of listening to Siddall compare everything to what he used to do and how what he did was right and everyone else is wrong? I find him negative, full of himself and all in all the kind loudmouth you’d like to either punch out yourself or watch someone else punch him out. My biggest fear right now is that Buck is not God and will eventually no longer be able to call the games and then we will be stuck having to listen to this boob for the next who knows how long. Thought/opinions/trolls?

As far as baseball Knowledge goes there is no one better on SN and it's not close. His delivery might be the problem - he's good in short stints analyzing the game in-between innings etc. vs doing an entire

Buck is awful. He hates the state of baseball and takes ever opportunity he can to tell you about the way things used to be. He also tells you something that's completely wrong almost every single game.

 

I assume he's a a fan favorite to casual fans who don't really know the game well.

Siddall is an OK announcer but what makes him special is that he's the only one who has the balls to consistently point out dumb s*** the team does.

Does not compute. Joe is excellent at his gig. His insights are not hyperbolic and are always supported by relevant stats.

 

He is not afraid to speak truth and he does not gloss over things, but he is always respectful and you know he knows the game is really really hard.

 

He is humble about his own playing career, but he skillfully weaves in some of his experience. In a sea of crap commentators and analysts, he has got to be an A-.

Couldn’t agree more. I’ll take Joe over Buck any day of the week and twice on Sunday.

 

I will say that Buck does have a relaxing cadence that really puts a viewer at ease…. At least until he makes some outdated comment on how the game should be played.

I've loved Joe since his days on the radio. He's so knowledgeable about the game and an excellent announcer in my opinion. My only complaint (and this goes for all of the announcers) is how much he talks about the guys int he dugout talking about hitting. I truly think this is a directive from the team though as it picked up when they got rid of Teo/Lourdes and anyone else other than Vlad who liked to have fun in the dugout. They want to give off this professionalism vibe even though few of these guys have professional at bats.

I find it weird that someone would hate Joe Siddal to such a degree. My only complaint when he's doing color commentary during broadcasts is that he tends to talk a little too much like he's getting paid by the word or something.
