Umps knew there was a 1-hour window to play, Royals grounds crew delayed resuming the game through that entire window. Now no way they can finish without screwing tomorrow’s schedule, so its final.

Shulman said on the broadcast that it takes the crew 30 minutes to do that. From the sounds of the tweets, looks like the Royals delayed the entire process in hopes of getting this exact outcome.
