But it's so sad to have a noodle bat who clogs the bases. After we get the automated strike zone, I can't think of a reason why he'd be anything more than a backup catcher without drastic improvements.

Get Biggio in the game. He will at least waste some time by seeing 5 or 6 pitches before striking out looking.

At this point I would be happy just to see Vlad hit a ball in the air to the left side. Even pulling a ball in the air foul would be nice to see.

June 27th 2022 he was hitting .320 .410 ..535 and had 19 career homeruns in 500 PAs

 

He was the same shape.

 

What he (and Vlad) has become cannot be explained by fatness unless we assume the extra weight wrecked their knees or something (don't really know how it would wreck their hands).
