Still can't wrap my head around not asking a mid-30s reliever to go 3 times in 3 days in this situation. Total of 21 pitches the last two. I get not being reckless, but at some point winning the game actually matters.

I’ve been watching baseball for just over a year but that was the worst umpiring I’ve ever seen, some of those calls weren’t even close.

Yes this loss sucks cause we were so close to the sweep, but there were a lack of available relievers. Whose fault is that? Should Pearson have stayed up with one of Swanson/Romano getting another 4 days off? Hindsight is 20/20. I'm more interested in why Chad Green wasn't available.

With Green apparently unavailable, I agreed with the bullpen decisions. I am concerned that both Swanson and Romano may have been rushed, Pearson was doing well for us.

This team, for the past few years, has always failed to put teams away when a sweep is on the table. It’s happened an alarming amount of times. Those extra games add up by the end of the season.

Green had shoulder soreness after his last outing apparently. Man, if he was healthy this would have been a sweep. I guess this makes JS’s bullpen usage a bit more understandable. The available arms were basically Richards, Cabrera, Swanson, Mayza, and Francis. Gausman only being able to go 5 innings was the real killer.

Was Green not available? From what I remember Swanson was getting hit around a bit in triple A would not have had him in high leverage right off the bat like that. Would have been nice to go to a flame thrower like Pearson in that stage of the game but instead we have to baby Francis and white. Stupid.

Bingo. Swanson is a good pitcher and had the bottom of the order. JS did nothing wrong today. Swanson didn't deliver. It happens. Don't be tampons people.

Swanson and Romano pitched 1.1 and 1 inning respectively in AAA. Both had a short Spring. Swanson gave up 4 hits in his 1.1. Safe to say he could have used more rehab time. especially when Pearson was looking good.

Sucks the way they lost today, but still impressive taking 2 of 3 from the Yankees and definitely encouraging. This pitching staff, especially once Gausman gets right and Romano/Swanson are at full strength, will be one of the best in the league and fun to watch on a nightly basis.

You need to chill man. Swanson didn't look right and was getting hit hard - what's the problem in making that observation? Obviously sucks they didn't have other options. Not sure if Green was available to pitch on back-to-back days. Ideally would have been nice to ease Swanson back into action, but understand the circumstances.
