Good thing we started all those lefty bats over Schneider huh?

It's okay you see because John talked to Davis before the game

Thank goodness the nerds up top decided we had enough offense without Schneider.

Yeah. There's no way a baseball guy who's in the clubhouse is actually choosing to sit Schneider. This is 100% nerds getting too cute and dictating lineups to Schneider.

Honestly, the way they treated Schneider here just lends itself to the lack of accountability that permeates the team. Management doesn't care if you bust your ass... your play on the field might as well be meaningless, so what's the point? This whole franchise is in rough shape.

Pearson throwing 100 can be good. Pearson throwing 95 very ugly

"Can be" are the key words. I don't see him mounting to anything other than middle relief

Yeah, but I'm curious if it's "getting too cute" or simply trying to rationalize two awful signings (IKF/KK). Maybe a little bit of both.

This is so difficult to watch, because you just know what this entire season is going to be like. Last year was the worst year I ever remember watching, and now we are getting it again, probably even worse.

Got to give it at least 50 games or so before we go there, at least for me. If they come out of this road trip 5-5 thats a victory.

I agree that last yr was the first time ever I wouldn't hit some games when in TOR. Boring and kind of unlikeable team to watch. Down 4-0 felt like it was over all '23 season.

If there had been a real effort to improve the offence, I would go along with that, but telling fans it was just bad luck and everyone would improve was just not going to cut it.

He has completely lost the ability to drive the ball and it's sad as f***

Imagine choosing Kirk and his body type over a generational type catcher in Moreno? Ross has also made a few good trades, but you just can't drop the ball on a decision of this magnitude. Ross is expiring faster than a glass of milk sitting in the hot sun.

“Yeah you know, we just didn’t execute. I’m not worried about the offense at all, I thought we had some good at bats today and just couldn’t get one to go. You have to give lots of props to the opposing pitcher, he pitched great. But no I’m not concerned at all, we have a plan with this offense and it’s going according to play.”

- John Schneider post game probably.

A few more games of this and he better be gone.

The analytics, matchups, blah blah. The guy who saved stole you a game last night gets sat. Completely killed the momentum of the whole team.

Fair. For me its not about the effort or attempts. In business, coffee is for closers.

Exactly.

Improving the O was deciding to give vlad more ABs and bat him 2nd

Two unserious off-seasons in a row. So many fans are so f***ing blind.

You’re assuming other teams wanted Kirk though?

I was saying that whole offseason that Kirk was the guy to trade since his value was probably at an all-time high. Maybe there wasn’t actually much interest. Maybe the FO was high on Kirk. Who knows.

They needed to move 1 of the catchers though.
