Swanson was pretty good in the 2nd half fellas, after dealing with injury and his kids accident, that didn't help coming out of ST. He can be used in leverage.

why don't we just wait and see about that one lol

if he is the #5 guy going into spring as the other dorks said, I feel fine. that's not a presumed leverage spot.

We need a closer and a good lefty reliever, those two along with Swanson and Green can be our back end at least to start the year . Sign some risk/reward guys to hopefully push them. Cheapest area to add talent through the year if the team is worth adding to.

I wanted Chapman or Minter for that reason, solid LHRP.

I think it could be something like Minter, Soroka and then someone out of the LeClerc, Kittredge, Joe Kelly range. I guess Giovanny Gallegos is dead now eh? He'd be an interesting flyer if he's healthy now and perhaps spent the offseason at Driveline or something to regain velo.

Give the rest of our budget to SP's or bats. Take your chances that someone jumps up and grabs the closer role by the balls.

Jays like Pop, obviously and I wouldn't punt Danner, guys with options will likely go down.

Thanks tips

So put him fourth instead of fifth if you want

Who cares about Jordan Romano? He's a 32-year old reliever who just missed like 80% of the year with an elbow issue that hasn't been repaired. You can give the same money to Chris Martin or something.

I enjoyed watching Romano, especially in 2020-2021 when he was an under the radar break-out reliever. He had some real nice years with the Jays, he's a good ol' Canadian boy, and seems like a good guy who always came with a 'gimme the ball' attitude.

But you're exactly right - he's a 32 year old reliever coming off a pretty serious elbow injury. I hope he does well this year, but I think we need to move on with our lives (especially that one guy here with the Romano jersey).

I think I read that the Dodgers signed Gallegos to a minor league deal, because I recall thinking those f***ers will probably get a huge bounceback from him

The elbow injury wasn't that serious. His deal is pending a medical so he'll be ready for spring or the deal will be voided. We have no bullpen. We can't just sign whoever we want. We have to convince guys to come here. We didn't need to convince Romano to come here. He was our property. Given the million holes we have to fill we should have kept him rather than punching another hole in the boat. We're sinking. It's not looking good.

It is absolutely f***ing hilarious that the Toronto Blue Jays offered Shohei Ohtani $700M and didn't get him, then offered Juan Soto $760M and didn't get him either.

Just the most elite Price Enforcing GM in the sport. There is no other Price Enforcing GM who compares to Ross.

A complete weapon of a Bridesmaid.

Don't worry. The 3rd time is the charm and when Ross offers Vlad 700M next offseason he's finally going to be the one to take it.

Carson Kelly to the Cubs and Alex Cobb to the Tigers. We’re out of appealing C options.

Why didn't Ross talk to anyone else but Soto before today? f*** me!

Because he's autistic, and can only focus on one thing at a time.

Next year will be third year in a row offering 700 million contract (in fact 800 million) and not signing player.

Vladimir Guerrero Jr. 2025 - .330 39 129 .410 .620 world record for hard hit balls, stays conservative on the basepaths. Cleans up D. 8.1 WAR. Agents frame him as Soto part 2.....

Dec 9th 2025 - Guerrero headed to Boston on record 15 year 790 million dollar contract. Insiders say Blue Jays offered to give Guerrero first 800 million dollar contract, but Guerrero took 10 million less to sign with Red Sox. Better opportunity to win and team with Devers were deciding factors.

LMAO... *oh, he's coming, buckle up!*

Oops... I'm late to the party and he's surprisingly tame. :P

He should have been talking with other FA's even when pursuing Soto. It's his job. Stop giving him a free pass like you always do.

Kelly would have been a nice add. Would have felt more comfortable with a Kirk/Kelly catcher tandem heading into the season.

I guess that leaves Grandal as one of the only few decent backup catchers left. Or go cheap with Reese McGuire for $1M.

Thanks, tips. Guess we'll have to wait and see. He could be a 6-7 inning guy easily. lol

Jordan Romano is signing with the Phillies.

Should get back at the Phillies and sign Jeff Hoffman to be our closer! That would be Atkins saying a FU to Dave Dombrowski!
