Many still made it through. The longer version of the gay f slang didn't make it but the three letter f-word did ( I self edited that, I'm not trying to start a war LOL)

Me, if they did:

Just say, “ear muffs” and we will be good.

This is starting to feel like last offseason again.

If we don’t sign at least 1 of the big bats to help out the lineup, (and I mean a 50 million + guy, not a 1 year deal hail mary) I’d consider this offseason a massive failure.

This organization needs a clean out.

Insanely soft pillow for Torres. 1/$15m

Yeah nice pickup by the Tigers.

He should bounce back and give them 2-3 WAR.

Is this a sign that the market may be cooling off? There are still tons of impactful players on the market and I'm not sure i can see all of them getting a huge payday.

I think that's the exact same deal they signed Flaherty for last off season. Why are these guys falling in the Tigers lap?

Because Detroit is an elite playoff team with ooodles of potential, star core players that are locked up and is one of the most beautiful places to live and play in America.

Honestly - no idea. To be fair, Flaherty wasn't highly sought after last offseason. He'd been often injured in previous years and **** the bed down the stretch for the O's. Torres is a little different. He's coming off a down season, but hit well in the 2nd half and into the playoffs (after making some adjustments). His defense and base running suck balls, but he's still young and should be a quality player for a few more years. I'm surprised he had to take a pillow deal.

We shall see. It took a big month of September to even reach the mediocre end of season numbers he ended with so there are plenty of reasons to be skeptical. He produced 1.0 FWAR of his end of season 1.7 FWAR total over his final 24 games based off of a .395 BABIP so it's very possible it was a short unsustainable hot streak.

I'm not surprised he wanted a pillow deal, just surprised how light it is

And '23 and '24? That's a nice cheap signing, they did well here.

I would have taken Torres at 1/15 over Gimenez at 5/100 (close to it) but obviously this FO has a specific skillset that they like, and Torres isn’t it.

I think Bregman might be a real possibility now. I don’t see many other options for him unless the Tigers are still on the market for a 3B, which they might be.

It's a low risk/medium reward signing for sure. Torres is getting worse season over season in the field and on the bases so there's a lot of pressure on the bat to provide any value. If he's a 1.5-2 win player that's not exactly much of a bargain all things considered. On top of that Comerica Park looks like a poor fit for Torres as his 2024 expected home runs drop from 17 in Yankee Stadium all the way down to 9 in Detroit.

I doubt they block Jace Jung. Could be wrong though, but I doubt it. They pivot off Bregman signed Torres for 2nd base and Jung slides back in at 3B. I can see them signing someone like Flaherty to strengthen their rotation.

Who even would still be in the market for Bregman other than us? Yankees?

Yeah Yankees could use a 3B and then move Jazz to 2B or the outfield.
