Spanky__99 Old-Timey Member Posted March 9, 2024 Posted March 9, 2024 Treinen on the mound for the Dodgers just took a line drive straight off his/body, just getting up now....and he's coming out Great, I just traded for him.

Spanky__99 Old-Timey Member Posted March 9, 2024 Posted March 9, 2024 Nobody cares, meat. lol... well played. It was in the LOD though, hurts more.
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted March 10, 2024 Posted March 10, 2024 Cleveland would be a good fit for JD Davis. They are desperate for power and have a ton of lefties in the lineup that Davis can spell at various positions. He’s too expensive for Cleveland at his projection IMO.

We could probably squeeze Davis into a bench spot. C: Jansen UT: Biggio/Schneider 1B/3B: Davis ???: Clement, Espinal, Vogelbach, Votto We could probably keep Clement, option Espinal and dump Vogelbach. It sounds like Votto is willing to start in the minors. I don't think the Jays are that interested in him though. Seems like if they were they would have given the Giants a ham sandwich for him by now. And I like that he brings a different skillset than the other 3B options but he's not necessarily better, he's just different. And I'm not sure that difference is worth adding 7 more mil to the payroll when we might need it at the deadline.

Also, can slide into 3B and provide a 100 wRC+ or better....

PitaBaby Verified Member Posted March 10, 2024 Posted March 10, 2024 The O's are very scary. We laughed at them for too long and here we are.
Carlos Danger Old-Timey Member Posted March 10, 2024 Posted March 10, 2024 Rays suffer a blow already. DeLuca out min 4-6 weeks with a broken hand. One of my Fantasy teams take a hit also since I was hoping he would be my CF depth..
L54 Old-Timey Member Posted March 10, 2024 Posted March 10, 2024 How did Bauer do today has anyone heard?
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted March 10, 2024 Posted March 10, 2024 The O's are very scary. We laughed at them for too long and here we are. We really squandered what was supposed to be our peak in 2021-2023. Now it will just continue to get tougher with the Os on the rise (and possibly the Redsox too with 4 guys in the top 100)
Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted March 10, 2024 Posted March 10, 2024 How did Bauer do today has anyone heard? Apparently he struck out 4 of 12 batters, gave up 1 hit, had the bench (literally) call out his pitches from the dugout for the final batter, and hit 99mph multiple times.

I knew it would probably never get better than that. Two MVP caliber performances, on top of another couple of all star performances and a Cy Young. Should have gone all in but allowed our pitching, particularly relief, to f*** us hard.

The most intriguing part here is that he hit 99. I don’t think he was ever close to throwing the fastball that hard

John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted March 11, 2024 Author Posted March 11, 2024 Astro's GM Dana Brown via interview on MLB Network Radio today talking about exploring pen upgrades: “We are talking to clubs about trades,” Brown said, “I can’t get into that, but we definitely are having conversations about trades… we’re always looking at ways and avenues that we can get better, and if we can get better we’re going to make moves.” Who's got a deal for them and the Jays that makes sense?

Blue Jays send Trevor Richards Astros send Spencer Areghetti or Rhret Kouba Reason, both Astros pitchers profile as SPs with Kouba being either an SP or could be used as high K RP in high leverage or long man.

The problem is the money. I don't think the Astros will be able to take on a lot of extra money in a trade, and I don't think they have a salary dump to send back.

No way Houston would do that for Arrighetti, dude. Was he wined and dined and got a reach around...

Spanky__99 Old-Timey Member Posted March 11, 2024 Posted March 11, 2024 He’s been saying all winter he’s throwing harder than he ever has 99 is massive gains though, no? During that Barstool video, he's throwing 95, weird.
