Masterbather Verified Member Posted October 3, 2023 Posted October 3, 2023 Did I say the game was over jackass? No I said Gausman looks bad, are you suggesting he hasn't? His splitters were in the dirt not even close to the plate and his fastball command has been off
Grant77 Old-Timey Member Posted October 3, 2023 Posted October 3, 2023 If he is struggling to throw the splitter with any command anyone is going to look fastball 3-2. He doesn’t want to walk 2 there. 97 in with movement. Just not in the enough. Tip your cap. Which sucks. We just need to score some runs. He is throwing the splitter where Kirk is asking for it. They absolutely, 100%, unquestionably know when it is coming. Gausman knows it, Dan and Buck know it. You can easily tell. Tip your cap to their coaching staff. Massive failure to ours.
Olerud363 Old-Timey Member Posted October 3, 2023 Posted October 3, 2023 Clearly the coaching staff wasn't able to identify the tell that the Twins have on Gausman. Massive, massive failure on their part. Gaus is throwing 97 on the black, but they know what is coming. 100%. Buck Martinez has known their was a tell since early 2022 and the Jays coaching staff can't figure it out? Look at the pitches they are taking. Look at the swing Lewis had on a 97 mph inside fastball. That doesn't happen unless he recognizes it really early.
el duque Verified Member Posted October 3, 2023 Posted October 3, 2023 Gausman has great velocity but Twins seems to have a good game strategy against him, they are not chasing anything
bones10 Old-Timey Member Posted October 3, 2023 Posted October 3, 2023 Lol well looks like we don’t have to worry about correra
gruber92 Old-Timey Member Posted October 3, 2023 Posted October 3, 2023 JS's face is already beet red, holy f***.
DigitalRock Old-Timey Member Posted October 3, 2023 Posted October 3, 2023 Gausman needs to chill none of that was on ump and I hate umps
CJ-Freeway Old-Timey Member Posted October 3, 2023 Posted October 3, 2023 Okay, we're still alive. Let's get 'em!!
Omar Old-Timey Member Posted October 3, 2023 Posted October 3, 2023 Just missing with the fastball. That’s it really Yep, barely missing. Love these guys and their scouting reports when Gausman is 14 pitches into the game.
jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted October 3, 2023 Posted October 3, 2023 Only 2-0 but with this lineup, huge mountain to climb.

jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted October 3, 2023 Posted October 3, 2023 I'm gonna make some chicken wings! Got some beers in the freezer! Lets go!

You and I have watched baseball long enough to know when something's up. That's the great thing about baseball. You notice things that you would have missed when a newer fan, like many in this thread. So much nuance.
Jays24 Old-Timey Member Posted October 3, 2023 Posted October 3, 2023 Gausman needs to chill none of that was on ump and I hate umps Exactly... don't take your own f*** ups on the ump and expect him to bail you out. Looks pathetic

Our coaching staff aren't very bright.
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted October 3, 2023 Posted October 3, 2023 Jays front office should have been working overtime Monday watching tape and figuring out what Gausman’s tell is against Minny. How does he always look shaky against these guys
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted October 3, 2023 Posted October 3, 2023 What can you say? Our coaching staff aren't very bright. Front office nerds should be on it too though
Olerud363 Old-Timey Member Posted October 3, 2023 Posted October 3, 2023 Bad command so far nothing more to glean from so far But a lot of the time the splitter isn't a strike anyway and it is just a matter of whether they recognize it early or not.
Jays24 Old-Timey Member Posted October 3, 2023 Posted October 3, 2023 Front office nerds should be on it too though They wouldn't know anything that is not a number. Watching the game itself isn't part of their skillset lol
Masterbather Verified Member Posted October 3, 2023 Posted October 3, 2023 But a lot of the time the splitter isn't a strike anyway and it is just a matter of whether they recognize it early or not. He has to establish the low fastball and he's got to throw a few early strike to ball splitters to establish it. If they're headed for the dirt right out of his hand they're not going to swing.
connorp Old-Timey Member Posted October 3, 2023 Posted October 3, 2023 Gausman had already missed badly a couple times in the Lewis AB. Had already walked a guy and 3-2, looking for a FB there wasn’t odd. Wrong guy to challenge unfortunately

Jays24 Old-Timey Member Posted October 3, 2023 Posted October 3, 2023 TV dive It's called " The Kevin Pillar" lol
gruber92 Old-Timey Member Posted October 3, 2023 Posted October 3, 2023 Front office nerds should be on it too though Big time. They're the morons who hired this garbage staff, except for Walker. The case is still out on Mattingly.
Jays24 Old-Timey Member Posted October 3, 2023 Posted October 3, 2023 Big time. They're the morons who hired this garbage staff, except for Walker. The case is still out on Mattingly. Mattingly is just there to take over when Schneider gets fired
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted October 3, 2023 Posted October 3, 2023 Chapman gonna smoke one 400ft to CF for the 3rd out now
