Ya I'm usually complaining about quick hooks for our starters but Kikuchi was horrible out there.

There's a reason why season averages are always good indicator of a player. A player usually isn't as bad as their lowest point and as good as their highest point.

watching him, he seems to struggle a lot. But if you check his stats he doesn't allow many baserunners, I guess they come in groups for him.

 

But those stats may be very misleading

Romano has done that all season, but doesnt bleed into next outing, hell then pitch 2 innings of shutout but im not sure he's a lock for 9th in playoffs, could be hicks.

it's not close to over, but ive never seen the jays play this well and rays so poorly over a series at the trop.

Richards accomplished an impressive feat and something that hasn't been done often by a Blue Jay reliever. 100 strikeout season out of the Bullpen. Very impressive accomplishment.

Yeah the hook on Kikuchi was 100% fine, he wasn’t fooling anyone.

 

He did strike out 7. The weird thing is a lot of the Rays’ hits were on fastballs way outside the zone. Almost as if they were just waiting on Kikuchi to lose his release point and miss up and away, which he does pretty often throughout his starts. Kind of a fascinating strategy, don’t think many teams are just waiting for a pitcher to miss but not in the middle of the zone.
