connorp Old-Timey Member Posted April 5, 2024 Posted April 5, 2024 I also sent out many o offers for Vlad in dynasty leagues. Now I’m not even sure how much I’d add to Casas, who is also struggling
BTS Community Moderator Posted April 5, 2024 Posted April 5, 2024 How do you even know Urshela or Teo would actually sign with Toronto and for the same amount they signed with other teams? That's the problem with you armchair GM twats that think you have all the answers. You think the jays could have just brought in whoever the f*** you happen to think was a better option, no questions asked and then complain that they didn't bring that player in all the while not having a f***en clue if that player was a realistic option or not Happened all offseason with Chapman, then it came out that he blamed Rogers Centre for his poor second half and had no intention of coming back.

Giving an example of alternative solution upon request. So I don’t argue against what you’re saying, however, there was a clear team need that was apparent to many, and an objective move in the opposite direction
connorp Old-Timey Member Posted April 5, 2024 Posted April 5, 2024 I think Gio goes to Toronto though. Don’t know it of course, but Detroit is Detroit. Toronto was probably the best opportunity for him if they said they saw him as a starter.

It's like they've never had to engage in competitive markets for anything. Never tried to buy a house for example, or completely forget what stuff like that can be like. connorp has been rejected by 1000 women in his life you'd think he would realize that you can't just pick 'em off the pile on the parameters you want
connorp Old-Timey Member Posted April 5, 2024 Posted April 5, 2024 It should be noted, Jays made a decisive (and heavily criticized move by even their peers) to lock up IKF. That was their target, that was their direction
Brownie19 Old-Timey Member Posted April 5, 2024 Posted April 5, 2024 Agility + hands > range at 3b. SS I’ll listen to range all day Why Gio? We already have Justin Turner who can go stand at 3rd base and provide below average defense for days. Maybe we need him to start at 3rd so we can get Voggy/Votto into the DH role daily.

Was supposed to be my career. Had a worker dad and super rich real estate developing uncle. Levered my father to get into the business and had a nice house free and clear by 22. Last years of college even was picking out land lots, going on the blueprint websites to pick out houses I wanted to build, purchased all interior finishes. Had backing from old mafia type retired GE guy, and family friend super rich Jewish ENT surgeon. Graduated to multi-unit and subdivision projects.. all before 25. With a wife most guys would die for and new baby. And I f***ed it all up lol. Just wanted to flash off money, be a big shot, little cocky. 1 night at my stomping ground Mardi Gras strip club in Springfield, MA, dropped like $15k in VIP and word got back to my family and everything from there just collapsed like the Bluejays franchise fast and swift. That core regret and desire to reset time will always by my demon. Luckily as my kid got older and needed my as a FT single dad, I was able to kind of put myself together. So to pay for all these private schools, I kind of had to stop playing the small violin.

glory Old-Timey Member Posted April 5, 2024 Posted April 5, 2024 I think I would have respected Atkins’ off season more if he just went with internal options after he struck out on Ohtani. He could have still signed Turner or whoever at DH since that DH market had a big supply, but going internal with LF/3B made more sense than what they ended up doing. It was a bad FA market. Don’t spend for the sake of spending. Just go out and say “we trust our development process and believe in our young players”, and then stick Schneider in LF and Barger at 3B, or whatever. If it failed then at least you failed with a logical process.
The_DH Verified Member Posted April 5, 2024 Posted April 5, 2024 Wes Parsons outrighted. No surprise.

To be fair, the guys he signed aren't really going to block guys like Barger, Orelvis, etc. The Davis Schneider thing is very odd though, but if he continues to rake, you have to think he'll eventually steal ABs away from KK/Varsho/etc. Signing those guys just raised the floor.

Sounds like you were just a bit of a hustler, decades ago, for a few years and played it fast and loose then it blew up. Good stuff. I am sure much was learned. Personally I think Leo DiCaprio should be cast in this compelling biopic. Margot Robbie would play the wife men would kill for, with a cold unforgiving edge with a simmering hatred for shady strip joints. Private school son (important viewers are constantly reminded this special child was in private school) would be played by Timothée Chalamet, a slightly troubled young man (Yankees fan) desperate to live up to his father's not so humble brags. Big budget incoming.

The glamour/prestige is mostly in connorp's head and the whole thing is more or less an It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia episode.
The_DH Verified Member Posted April 5, 2024 Posted April 5, 2024 Parsons arm actually looks better than it did last year. Maybe just needs to learn to use it a bit better.
InsideThePark Verified Member Posted April 5, 2024 Posted April 5, 2024 Parsons lasted even longer than my low expectations thought. Shouldn't have been there to begin with. I don't expect Espino to last much longer TBH. Danner should be up here but they need length. By the time they don't need length Romano or Swanson or both will be back.
