What’s dumb is whining about something done 4 f***ing years ago like it matters at all to the current team. There 700 different things that might have happened if Stroman was resigned between that and now that could hypothetically change what the current roster even looks like so hindsight whining is beyond stupid.

 

It's a commentary on the shortsightedness of Shapiro's roster construction. He seems to have a real problem with depth. For years it was the bullpen, now it's the rotation. I'm not impressed with the job they've done.

I was very surprised when the Jays showed no interest in him at all. The guy would have been a great fit and it would have been a grand-slam from a PR point of view. Seems like Shapiro let his personal gripes interfere with the betterment of the team.

I think you'd have to give Francis a shot at this point - it's hard to be any worse. Check the waiver wire. At this point, if you can find anyone who can throw 5-6 innings of 4-run ball you'd probably take it.
