That's a LOT of walks LOL

11 walks and 4 HBP in 46 PAs. He's becoming a bit of an HBP merchant to boost his OBP in recent years, steadily increasing with each passing season.

Otto Lopez is the one that got away isn't he

He's on track to carve himself a nice little career if he keeps it up. Elite defensively at second with previous reps all over the place, good speed, and while I don't think the bat is that legit due to the lack of power, the hit tool appears to play.

Probably few teams he gets a chance to prove himself like he has on the Marlins, so it was for the best. He was also brutal in 2023 at AAA so it made sense at the time to let him go. Cool to see guys like him and Griffin Conine sort of stick at the MLB level without being good enough to be actual stars that you don't fully regret giving up on them.

Danny Jansen hitless so far in TB

Only a few games in of course but but not how he wanted to start off I'm sure

Romano has had a rough start to his Phillies tenure. Average fastball velo is 94.5 - down 2 mph from last season, swinging strike rate far below his career average. Touched up by the Dodgers yesterday.

I was wondering where all the Romano fanboys were. They were pretty loud this offseason after we cut him loose but you don't hear too much from them anymore.

Ryan Yarbrough just got tagged for another homer. Yankees down 5-0 to Detroit.

But the innings he's eating up! Think about the stability that his 83 mph floaters and vetrin presents are providing to the Yankees bullpen.

The only thing as good as him pitching well for the Jays is him pitching poorly for the Yankees

2025 so far:

Kirk .278/.270/.306 wRC+ 61

Jansen .050/.174/.050 wRC+ -20

Moreno .259/.333/.259 .wRC+ 75

Yikes all around really

Apparently Steven Matz is now a reliever for the Cardinals. He officially can no longer strike anyone out, on the last year of his 4/44 deal that Pete Walker got for him. In Matz' defense - and Pete Walker's too, for bringing him back to life - he was decent in '22 and '23 but has dealt with a myriad of injuries.

Yarbrough crashing out with the Yankees only to come back here on a minor league deal is my dream ending.

He's gotta be one of the all-time biggest busts in Blue Jays history

I'll go with Snider unless you count Austin Martin

Martin is a draft pick bust, but considering Pearson and Snider were both top 10 prospects at one point, in particular by the time they debuted, I think they still rank higher on the busts list. By the time Martin reached the MLB he was a 45 FV prospect with an okay hit tool, no power and an iffy defensive home. The book was out on him by his second professional season.

Romano getting Shrek'd again. His ERA is like 13.00 now.

Edit: another homer. 15.26 ERA and has turned a blowout win into a nail biter

Romano blows another one. Going for the 10th inning save, he allows a groundball to advance the runner, a deep double to score the tying run, IBB, strikeout, bloop single to lose the game. Bunch of hanging sliders. Fastball didn't even look bad but he hardly used it.

Dropping Romano and picking up Hoffman has been the most impactful positive move from this off season

Wow.  Sucks cause I loved Romano but damn.  Good thing they moved on.
