Biggio as a Corner OF and persuading a FA you’re after to switch positions, to somewhere they haven’t played.

Not sure which thought process is more dumb

Yeah its a stretch but Bellinger wouldn't have much difficulty becoming a 1B, 3B, CF, and would be better at 3B then any internal option

Positional flexibility is all the rage these days

The first left-handed 3B in MLB history, Cody Bellinger. Should be good for a -100 OAA or so. Excellent idea.

Believe don Mattingly played a few innings at 3b over his career

Bellinger has played some 1B, I'm sure he'd do fine there as a backup option. 3B... naw bro.

Jim was too lazy to see that Belly is Lefty/Lefty

Just like his lazy analysis that “lefties” are more likely to thrive outside the US because they’re more accepting of foreign laws. They’re the “live and let live” people, per Jim.

All good pretty sure you were kidding around with some troll bait anyway though.

Don’t let him slip out of being a dumbass. He wasn’t trolling this time around

Obviously the goal is to plate the run. What Merrifield seems to be espousing (I haven't listened to the interview, only read through what Carlos presented) was a small ball approach where an out is traded for the run scoring. It would appear as though the team preferred to set up the possibility of scoring more than a single run by not wanting players to chase pitchers pitches in the hopes of slapping a run home.

Whit can bring that high level small ball approach to another team. Sorry to say, I'm not going to miss watching that guy. Noodle bat that hasn't put up 1.0 WAR in the last THREE seasons combined. Not sure why so many fans seem to have a hard on for this guy.

He's a scrapper and Canada is a hockey country.

IKF would be a nice add for this team at 3b SS and CF at a really reasonable cost....I'd do a 3/30 deal with him. Would be a great start to the offseason.

Belinger is also a French name so would be so shocked that he wants to be here with French speakers.

His mom also would be a hit with the older guys in the club house. She uploads on one of those u-porn type sites under I think just “wifey” and has been around a lot.

I can only assume you are utilizing Baseball Reference for some reason instead of Fangraphs which any self respecting baseball nerd is inclined to prefer. At the same time you must have missed Whit's 2021 season where he was still an above average regular.

According to Fangraphs Whit has been worth 6 wins above replacement over the last 3 seasons combined, and according to Baseball Reference he's been worth 4.5 wins above replacement.

You guys want me to rattle off more moves or are you sick of it lol

That was my mistake, should have been last two years not three years. Still a fourth line grinder that's imminently replaceable. Disagree?

I'm not huge on hockey analogies for baseball players but Merrifield is easily replaced internally by some combination of Schneider, Espinal and Biggio.
