People honestly thought that the front office was "figuring out" where to assign him. The guy hasn't thrown a professional pitch in a month, even the Angels aren't this incompetent.

 

Do the tests to shut him up, then it's time to come down hard. Management has completely lost control of the clubhouse.

All because of his Ego. You can tell he clearly did f*** all in the offseason and didn't prepare for the rule changes (pitch clock). He was gassed after a couple innings.

He won't even show up to work on his game in AAA. You just KNOW he's not going to do f*** all in the offseason to get in shape or get better.

 

He probably thinks he was just unlucky this year and everything spiraled out of control and he just needs a clean slate and a bulldog attitude next season to get back on track.

So for Fantasy purposes, are we 100% sure Bo is going to be in the lineup tonight in some form? Any local Toronto media reports that have not made it to me yet?

Not sure what the heck you mean about coming down hard on him. This isn't public school. There very well could be grievances filed through the union on this and a bunch of s*** happening in the background.

I certainly think the FO will take a good hard look at trading him this offseason. That's really unfortunate as we know they'll get 10 cents on the dollar for what should have been a core piece. The guy is a douchebag though.

Alek, I love you, but show me you care. Spend a bit more time working out and extend that career.

 

This feels like a great time for a leader on the team to take him out for dinner and try and talk some sense into him. Perhaps you wait until the season is over. Springer - I think that's you buddy. A slim/healthy, confident and happy Manoah would be a huge help to the team in 2024 and moving forward (rebuilding his trade value if necessary). I players have to know this and I think they should take an active role in helping him put both the buffet and his ego aside and get back to helping this team win a championship.

Didn't he go crazy in some gym he owned posting videos of him working out after the sportscaster said he was fat?

 

Maybe he did work out, but strength not stamina... Very different types of workouts...

So basically my first theory about Vlad hitting 385 foot fly balls to center all the time is completely stupid and wrong, he actually hardly hits 380 foot flyballs at all, like at half the rate of his former self.

Makes sense. Basic physics = big belly forces body to lean fwd and hit ball downward. Weeble wobble theory..

Vlad Jr. has a fastball problem. His launch angle on four-seamers in the heart of the plate he's hit to pull side this year? -7 degrees. His overall rate of pulled air balls is down. His FG run value on fastballs has gone from +40 in 2021 to +2 this year.

Now his contact ability remains borderline elite. Lowest K% of his career.

He's still 93rd percentile in exit velo (was 99th in '21). But an adjustment is necessarily to do more damage on the pitch types, fastballs, he faces half of the time. The good news is, plenty of guys (including Bryce Harper +45 FG runs vs fastball in '15, +7 in '16) have made it.

He's still at an age when most guys are debuting in the majors. Thoughts on Vlad, the Angels, and more here:

Damn that hurts. Jansen is one of the only guys in the lineup (along with Belt) displaying power this season. The Jays simply don't have enough pop in the lineup to consistently score since Vlad, Springer, etc, stopped hitting for power for some reason. Kirk's bat has gotten better since July (.143 ISO and 109 wRC+ since July 1) but the Jays are going to miss Jansen a lot.

I haven't posted this yet. However, I have been to a number of games this year in person, most recently on Monday. I have not been impressed with Kirk's game behind the plate and his pitch calling, especially with RPs... I think Jansen is far superior..

 

Jansen is a guy I want AB late innings when we need a double or HR etc...

Pitch calling is the only thing Jansen has over Kirk behind the plate. Kirk is as good or better in most other ways. Gonna miss Jano' s bat though and we may not see Chapman for the duration either. Tough times in Blue Jay land.

Alex Avila was on Sirius mlb the other day. He was asked about best catchers in league and who impressed him coming up.

Said Kirk, was the best at blocking and framing and had improved tremendously this year. Thought sky was the limit for him

Yup, and the numbers show it, he's very underrated here. As is Jano for different reasons perfect tandem.
