Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted August 9, 2023 Posted August 9, 2023 The most recent argument of the Belly haters is Kevin Kiermaier has a higher WAR/game. Not anymore. KK - 1.8 WAR, 95 games Belly - 3.8 WAR, 83 games The so called Sheriff of BJMB should hand in his imaginary badge.
Jimcanuck Old-Timey Member Posted August 9, 2023 Posted August 9, 2023 LOL. Be nice to the Term now...he went all in and is still living that down, and his undying support of Biggio. Always a strong backer of that kid. He doubled down, and now needs to double down on the humble pie.
Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted August 9, 2023 Posted August 9, 2023 Why is our trainer both at AAA and the majors overweight. Like f***.
Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted August 9, 2023 Posted August 9, 2023 He doubled down, and now needs to double down on the humble pie. Well he resurrected his career by cutting his K rate which makes him serviceable again but I can't predict that someone is going to over perform their wOBA by 60 points, Jim. No one can. He's got career low exit velos (by far), barrel rate and hard hit %.

No one can. He's got career low exit velos (by far), barrel rate and hard hit %. I already dealt with this, he has his 2nd highest sweet spot % of his career. That and his low K rate are from changing his plate approach. He's taking a contact oriented approach but punishing the pitches he can do damage to. Whereas his previous approach was swing for the fences all the time. It's not hard.

So just to clarify, you think that Bellinger can and will over perform his wOBA by 60 points moving forward, all because of this new approach that you're ascribing to him? I guess it's possible, has anyone ever consistently over performed like that before Jim? I know it can happen with other stats like FIP but I haven't seen it with xwOBA.
Masterbather Verified Member Posted August 10, 2023 Posted August 10, 2023 So did I hear correctly on the broadcast that Green is in concussion protocol and then starts another 30 day rehab?! f***. I know some people are blaming Heineman, but honestly Green needs to get the f*** down on a throw to second. What the hell was he doing?

I don't know why he'd need a 30 day rehab But the concussion protocol is a 7 day IL thing
Masterbather Verified Member Posted August 10, 2023 Posted August 10, 2023 I don't know why he'd need a 30 day rehab But the concussion protocol is a 7 day IL thing Well, the TJ rehab will be over, but he'll have to start a new 30 day rehab for the concussion. I suppose he could come back sooner but given how slow they were taking it with his comeback, it could still be a while.
Jimcanuck Old-Timey Member Posted August 10, 2023 Posted August 10, 2023 I didn't say he would outperform his x whatever. I said he has made changes that have worked, even with some regression. If the true performance is closer to .850 OPS than .950, that's still f***ing good.
L54 Old-Timey Member Posted August 10, 2023 Posted August 10, 2023 Why is our trainer both at AAA and the majors overweight. Like f***. Who cares? As long as he’s good at his job I don’t give a s*** what he looks like
L54 Old-Timey Member Posted August 10, 2023 Posted August 10, 2023 Zero chance there’s a 30 day concussion rehab He might not even have one. Pass the baseline tests and you’re cleared
L54 Old-Timey Member Posted August 10, 2023 Posted August 10, 2023 Even Bellinger’s expected stats have improved and actually look good 83rd and 71st percentile xBA and xSLG 3.8 WAR and 150 wRC+ He’s been objectively awesome
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted August 10, 2023 Posted August 10, 2023 Why do you guys care so much???
Jimcanuck Old-Timey Member Posted August 10, 2023 Posted August 10, 2023 Why do you guys care so much??? It's great being proven right again and again
metafour Verified Member Posted August 10, 2023 Posted August 10, 2023 Thats what I thought he meant. Regarding Pham or anyone...a sample size of since the trade deadline a week ago doesn't determine if an add is an upgrade or not LMAO. The point is that you would be crying like a little baby if they traded for Pham and he hit like that over this sample size LOL. Waaah waaah THE LINEUP! Make them hit more!
metafour Verified Member Posted August 10, 2023 Posted August 10, 2023 Hey, but Varsho over the last 7 games is hitting .316 so all is now forgiven and we could forget his brutal season to date! Another great defensive win tonight spearheaded by the elite defense of Varsho roaming around CF like a heat seeking missile! How mad are you right now?
metafour Verified Member Posted August 10, 2023 Posted August 10, 2023 Fujinami = Hicks Again why we love the Orioles. I saw that over the weekend they gave Fujinami the 8th in a 2-0 game which I thought was crazy after he gift wrapped the Jays a win last week. However Fujinami (for the Orioles) has been as good as Hicks has for the Jays, if Hicks wildness last night had started with the bases loaded it would have been just as bad as Fujinami's. So the Orioles once again acquire the same guy as the Jays except I think they have him for a few years and didn't give up as much to get him Fujinami throws harder than Hicks btw... Saw consistent 103s the other day. Fujinami tonight LMAO 0.2 IP, 3 BB, 3 ER, 0 K ERA up to 8.13. Look at those dang Orioles, acquiring the same player as Hicks for nothing! Wow can you even believe it? I heard Fujinami broke the stadium gun he was throwing so hard tonight!

And you guys are getting better at reading the color coded statcast page, I'll give you that. If anything comes from this bit I've been running for over a year now I'll at least have taught you all something. But speaking of expected stats, his xwOBA is .338 which is in the 65th percentile. It's above average but not necessarily "objectively awesome" as it's a far cry from his 96th percentile wOBA. I still maintain that if he signed here with our luck, he'd be underperforming his xwOBA by 60 points instead of overperforming it by that amount.
Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted August 10, 2023 Posted August 10, 2023 Why do you guys care so much??? I don't know Spank but it's disgusting. I've been minding my own business this entire time and I'm constantly harrassed.

But you live in your own little fantasy world, we can forget how awful Varsho has been this season for the first 4 months vs. 1 week of hitting .316 lol.
