Its a hard choice because obviously he’s useless rn and for this year he’s a punt. But it would not be surprising to see him as a decent back-end 5/6 starter as soon as 2024. Multiple years of control still.

Will probably see him as the 5th starter for the Reds or something next year

Exactly. The second he gets DFA'd some s***** team is going to give him a shot and it wouldn't be outlandish for him to be a serviceable backend guy like we all thought he would be.

I was out to breakfast with a few friends today and they were mad Kirk wasn't getting more playing time because he was an all star last year (same argument they made for Espinal). I decided to check out his stats in his last 550PA and they're not pretty - actually a lot worse than I was expecting.

91 wRC+, 22 extra base hits, .297 wOBA, 0.078 ISO.

I'm genuinely amazed with how poorly he's been hitting the last seasons worth of at bats.

White had some prospect pedigree and a good minor league track record to go along with a good 100 major league innings too. I think the injury has definitely played a part in this season but time is running out and we can't keep a mid pitcher like him around.

the Dodgers (Mark Prior) knew how to manage him, it's just not working here

Hahahaha... after the players found out the M's shop had a section for Blue Jays merch, gone... lol

The Bigman is indeed starting Sunday!

So... let's win the first two

I find it very sad for for this team, that the pitchers are announced and my first thought, was “oh no, not Manoah.

He used to be my favourite player

Don’t underestimate the Revenge of Dough-boy storyline.

Yeah, fell off a cliff, hopefully they can get him right. Nobody saw this coming.

Redundant Hazel doesn't realize that y'all is short for "you all"

She’s married to Kevin Barker, she knows.

I can't even be mad for him not hinting at the need for a frontline starter because he won't be able to get one anyway. At least he recognizes the need for starting depth, but given the track record recently I'd rather he not waste assets trying.

Why do you even get up in the morning?

Running Manoah out there Sunday in this dog fight we are in is 100% on the FO. Its tantamount to Tyler Chatwood '21, but even worse.

When you look at some of the rotation challenges, injury wise, of teams with as good or better records our lack of depth is brutal.

Let's reverse jinx this fat f*** into 7 innings of 1 run ball please.

What pitcher leads the majors in number of starts going at least 6 scoreless innings?

From BNS article today, oof...

Time to clean it up

Early in Thursday's game, Vladimir Guerrero Jr. was picked off first base in what's becoming a needless pattern for the Blue Jays. While Guerrero Jr. would more than make up for it later with an impressive catch on a pop-up and an opposite-field home run, it prompts a wider look at the Blue Jays' baserunning.

So far this season, the Blue Jays have been caught stealing 25 times, which ranks fourth-highest in baseball. Their stolen base success rate of 74 per cent ranks fifth-last in MLB, though, and they've made 35 further outs on the bases, which is tied for third-highest in MLB (attempting to advance on a wild pitch or base hit, for instance).

All told, that’s 60 outs — more than two full games’ worth. The only team to make more outs on the bases is Cincinnati, yet the high-flying Reds also lead baseball in stolen bases. What’s done is done, but the Blue Jays would do well to stop getting in their own way and start erring on the side of caution.

I'm much more upset with the pickoffs than the caught stealings

CS doesn't bother me either, it's the simple mistakes that irk me in this regard, like little league s***.
