I feel we discuss weight issues way to often. Professional athletes with access to nutritionists, personal chefs, personal trainers, and all the recovery equipment you could ever dream of should never heve weight issues.

You're not wrong. But at the end of the day, a team cannot mandate anything unfortunately. The athlete has to want it.

Hey Alek welcome to Dunedin, how was the winter? Oh you’re three hundred and fifty pounds now? You better look for an apartment in Buffalo until you’re under three hundo

Well, yes, they could feasibly do that, what Im saying is they cant force him to be in Dunedin over the winter at the complex. If he wants to spend his winters eating cake and ice fishing, nothing they can do. Ditto with Vlad and Kirk, and any other player. PLayers have to agree to be there.

Atkins basically echoed what I've been saying, the RISP will normalize as will they follow a run, it's really good to have men on base and the regression will come, and the Jays will NOT be sellers, dumn dumns.

He used a flick reference. One of the better films ever made in my opinion.

We have some common ground sometimes. When you’re not being a douche, anyway

NFL teams make players hit certain weigh levels. I wonder why they can't in baseball? I mean I guess that would need to be added to the CBA or some union s***. Doing something that is going to have a drastic impact on your ability to do your job seems like something the employer should have some leverage on.

TV crew is saying Kirk is catching for Bassitt tomorrow and calling pitches? I would much rather have Jansen calling Bassitt's games if Bassitt isn't calling his own pitches.

Like being a stewardess and weighing less than 120lbs. Strictly because of fuel efficiency. No other reason.

They’re called flight attendants. Gender neutral please. But yeah them bitches need to be tight.

Alec Manoah needs to face the cameras and simply his state his body and mind need a step back to reset, he is disappointed in letting his teammates down but has to do what's best for him and the teams longterm goals for him. He will do his best to come back in time for the playoffs but can't promise anything

You want him to admit that he’s fat and washed on recorded camera?

I agree 100%. Jansen knows how to call a game, Kirk not so much.

What if he went with steward or stewardess?

Yeah I don't see a lot of benefit to what would essentially amount to publicly tarring and feather the guy.

If Kirk's game calling is this big of an issue the only way he'll get better is by working with trickier pitchers calling their game for them. He can't be sheltered forever.

Look at these comparison pics. Seems like it's waaaay more than just 30ish pounds.

Manoah ate his way from Cy Young finalist to the Florida Complex League.

I'm just laughing at the idea of the Jays little nerd biomechanics guy getting his first look at Manoah in the spring

Those resources are great, but without determination, will power, dedication, and discipline, they're irrelevant.

I think it's safe to write 2023 off for Manoah, but what he does in the off season to prepare for 2024 will be critical. Looking at Vlad (who actually tried to get in shape at one point) and Kirk, I'm not counting on anyone in this org to get into great shape who isn't already motivated to get in that shape, but Manoah's diet/conditioning might be costing him generational wealth, so you just have to hope there's enough incentive in there to change. Hitting rock bottom is usually a good thing in that regard.

Vlad Jr confirmed to be in the HR Derby at the AllStar game.

I think this is a good thing, like you always hear about how going into the derby messes up your swing because all you do is try to hit HRs - this is probably exactly what Vlad needs to fix his swing.
