Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted January 20, 2023 Posted January 20, 2023 Are you sure his body will age well? I don't trust fatties. I've said it before but any Vlad extension needs to be structured similarly to Zion Williamson's in the NBA where he must be under a particular weight number or else the contract can be voided. Yeah that’s never going to happen. A weight clause? Get real
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted January 20, 2023 Posted January 20, 2023 So the fences are coming in? Corners seems deeper, power alleys slightly shorter, CF a bit deeper, fences 5 ft higher all around. I suppose we’ll have the final dimensions sometime in March?

Carlos Danger Old-Timey Member Posted January 20, 2023 Posted January 20, 2023 Well if Kiemaier, Romano and Kiermaier said it, it must be true. Did we get a two for one deal?
Ray Verified Member Posted January 20, 2023 Posted January 20, 2023 Gut feeling, but Vlad hasn’t been the guy out to maximize his value at every stop (like Bo). He never complained about the service time manipulation. He never rejected pre-arb raises. He never has been to an arb hearing. He’s made it publicly known that he wants to stay long term, multiple times in fact. He understands to get a deal done at this point, both sides will have to meet in the middle. Like I think if you offer him $300M over 10 years today with some opt outs, he probably takes it. I think that’s a pretty good middle ground.
Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted January 20, 2023 Posted January 20, 2023 Well if Kiemaier, Romano and Kiermaier said it, it must be true. No wonder why he covers so much ground. He’s been 2 people this whole time.

That's pretty much pure free agent extension to a guy with 2 arb years left. A middle ground would be maybe 10/250+ with an opt out after 4 or 5 years or something like that.
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted January 21, 2023 Posted January 21, 2023 Just giving them more ammo lol. Jomboy crew must absolutely hate the jays

There are far worse players in league including this team who will earn much more than Bo. He is one of the leaders on this team and one of the better hitters in this league. He works hard on this game, including defence. SS who hit as well as him are hard to find. The gap is not a whole lot between the two in actual numbers even though as per arb standards it is the highest. Keep one of the key players on team happy especially in a contending year!!!

Tell your case to the arbitrator, not a random Jays message board.
Jimcanuck Old-Timey Member Posted January 21, 2023 Posted January 21, 2023 But a higher fence? Vladdy better up that launch angle or he's getting robbed. 120 MPH screamers off the wall for a single.

Jimcanuck Old-Timey Member Posted January 21, 2023 Posted January 21, 2023 Good god that's short in RCF and LCF Best to sign these guys to extensions now.
RobinThicc Verified Member Posted January 21, 2023 Posted January 21, 2023 Shapiro did say they ran a bunch of simulations and that the park would play roughly the same, but its hard to imagine thats true looking at these dimensions lol Rip to the pitchers
RobinThicc Verified Member Posted January 21, 2023 Posted January 21, 2023 Forgot the walls are like 15 feet high, so it probably balances out
glory Old-Timey Member Posted January 21, 2023 Posted January 21, 2023 I guess Jays fans can no longer complain about Yankee Stadium home runs anymore.

Can’t wait for the Varsho wall-scrapers and triples off the top of the wall KK probably benefits too. If he hits it to the wall and takes an odd bounce its like an auto-triple
Jays24 Old-Timey Member Posted January 21, 2023 Posted January 21, 2023 Oh man... did we really need to push the walls in that much? We might become the most hitter friendly park in baseball now lol. 357 to RCF is a joke lol.
JFD Old-Timey Member Posted January 21, 2023 Posted January 21, 2023 I guess Jays fans can no longer complain about Yankee Stadium home runs anymore. Do we have a short porch with a two foot wall?
Krylian Old-Timey Member Posted January 21, 2023 Author Posted January 21, 2023 Good god that's short in RCF and LCF Belt is going to break Judge's record this season

Jays24 Old-Timey Member Posted January 22, 2023 Posted January 22, 2023 (edited) Is 357 to RCF the shortest distance in baseball that doesn't have a massive wall kind of offsetting it? Edited January 22, 2023 by Jays24
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted January 22, 2023 Posted January 22, 2023 Is 357 to RCF the shorted distance in baseball that doesn't have a massive wall kind of offsetting it? Nah, the wall has always been 11ft, for 4ft more to 15 isn't much.
