I've said it before but any Vlad extension needs to be structured similarly to Zion Williamson's in the NBA where he must be under a particular weight number or else the contract can be voided.

Gut feeling, but Vlad hasn’t been the guy out to maximize his value at every stop (like Bo). He never complained about the service time manipulation. He never rejected pre-arb raises. He never has been to an arb hearing. He’s made it publicly known that he wants to stay long term, multiple times in fact. He understands to get a deal done at this point, both sides will have to meet in the middle.

 

Like I think if you offer him $300M over 10 years today with some opt outs, he probably takes it. I think that’s a pretty good middle ground.

Pretty bad middle ground. That's pretty much pure free agent extension to a guy with 2 arb years left. A middle ground would be maybe 10/250+ with an opt out after 4 or 5 years or something like that.

Nah, the wall has always been 11ft, for 4ft more to 15 isn't much.
