Brownie19 Old-Timey Member Posted January 20, 2023 Posted January 20, 2023 Oh I'm not, connorp behaviour represents like 0.1% of the population, or about 30 people in a typical Rogers Centre crowd. Is 30 people "flying" to their death / game an acceptable amount? FFS Jim - this is stupid. The chances of someone jumping off a ledge because their high are the same as a drunk doing the same thing. People who get paranoid on weed typically just sit there or they leave and go home. Let's all move on from this idiotic comment.

The Cats Ass Old-Timey Member Posted January 20, 2023 Posted January 20, 2023 Just to clarify, these are all people like connor? Maybe culling only 30 a game isn't enough.

Gene pool cleaning at its finest.

So I have this straight, during a conversation about serving cannabis products during a major sporting event (and when we might see something like this actually happen), you wanted to make a joke that people might jump over the railings. What nights do you do standup?
connorp Old-Timey Member Posted January 20, 2023 Posted January 20, 2023 Try an indica strain, and try lower THC with a bit of CBD still in it. Most of those who get paranoia get it from a sativa strain that's way too strong for them. This is probably the case. Despite the racism accusations, the last good friend I had before I went full Muslim and stopped drinking was a big black guy- inner city type- he was my chef. He loved two things: weed and banging chicks. The only time I smoked as an adult was with him and it was probably the chronic stuff. I was like balled up in a corner freaking out lol

G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted January 20, 2023 Posted January 20, 2023 So when Teo and Lourdes hit singles and are hanging out at 1B will they still be BFF with Vladdy? Or feel slighted by hit defense comments?

"I'm going to stay focused on working hard and let my team take care of that," he added through interpreter Hector Lebron.
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted January 20, 2023 Posted January 20, 2023 He's spent the whole winter so far in the DR it seems like They really should try to get something done right now I'm fine with a 12 year deal at the right AAV. He's still only 23, and the bat should age well
Jimcanuck Old-Timey Member Posted January 20, 2023 Posted January 20, 2023 I wanna just buy out 2 or 3 FA years. He'll still be young enough when it expires. Want no part of thirty-something Vlad, tbh.

He's still only 23, and the bat should age well For luxury tax purposes, any Vlad extension should begin in 2024 so it doesn't impact 2023 lux tax payroll, so now that his 2023 arb figure is taken care of, maybe they will start the extension talks.

He's still only 23, and the bat should age well Are you sure his body will age well? I don't trust fatties. I've said it before but any Vlad extension needs to be structured similarly to Zion Williamson's in the NBA where he must be under a particular weight number or else the contract can be voided.
The_DH Verified Member Posted January 20, 2023 Posted January 20, 2023 The worse sign is that his father didn't age that well and he was in better shape.
Jimcanuck Old-Timey Member Posted January 20, 2023 Posted January 20, 2023 Shorter deal anyone would want higher AAV You'd prefer say 6-7 years x35M (about what Correa just got) over say 12 years x 28-30M? Combination of ARB and FA years will lessen the AAV. Don't pay much attention to arb awards but offhand $35M AAV seems high in this scenario.
Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted January 20, 2023 Posted January 20, 2023 He's just so damn young I'm not terribly concerned about a 10 or even 12 year extension for him as long as they AAV is around 25 mil or less. That would be through his age 33-35 seasons. Even if he's a 1.5 to 2 WAR player by the time he's 33 a deal like that won't kill us.

I think I'd be fine with a 11-12 year deal for Vlad, even acknowledging the weight issues and possibility for some dead money towards the end. He had a 132 wRC+ at age 23 in a down year. We all know what the ceiling is. Seems like a worthwhile gamble to take. Maybe a 11/285.5m extension would work. Once you add his 2023 arb figure it comes out to 12/300, so it's a round enough number for Vlad, and it's $25-26m AAV from 25-35, so it wouldn't be like Pujols or Cabrera where you're running him out there in his late-30's/40's. I'm guessing he would sign a deal like that. Whether the Jays would offer it, I have no idea, but that's probably what it takes to get it done.
Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted January 20, 2023 Posted January 20, 2023 So the fences are coming in?
