Masterbather Verified Member Posted September 23, 2023 Posted September 23, 2023 That Texas bullpen, they did so much to get starters and the ridiculous lineup, but somehow left themselves this disaster of a bullpen outside of Chapman.

bones10 Old-Timey Member Posted September 23, 2023 Posted September 23, 2023 We gotta hope Texas just sweeps Seattle, right? little bit easier schedule, and seems like the team more likely to win the last two series match ups 5-2 or better.

The Mariners have the Astros for 3 while the Rangers have the s***** Angels, so yeah that's probably what we should be rooting for. I don't want to have to trust anything involving the Angels and winning games.
Masterbather Verified Member Posted September 23, 2023 Posted September 23, 2023 For sure. I'm not sure who I would prefer to meet in the playoffs. Still Seattle for me. I know we can be competitive against Seattle but that Texas lineup could knock us out before we even have a chance to get to their bullpen as we've already seen. Even Gausman they were on.
Masterbather Verified Member Posted September 23, 2023 Posted September 23, 2023 Does anybody know what happens if there's a three-way tie for the West?
Laika Community Moderator Posted September 23, 2023 Posted September 23, 2023 I was just going to say Is it mathematically possible for Texas, Houston, and Seattle to end up tied for the division and then one of them misses the playoffs entirely on double tie breaker??

Baseball they would play it like men. Quit fantasizing about deciding things with a calculator
JFD Old-Timey Member Posted September 23, 2023 Posted September 23, 2023 Aaron Hicks 2-run double off Clase is all the data you need to know that the O's have a horseshoe up their butts this year Edit: How was that not an error?

Masterbather Verified Member Posted September 23, 2023 Posted September 23, 2023 Chapman tries to be too cute for no reason. Just blow them away dude.
thatoneguy Old-Timey Member Posted September 23, 2023 Posted September 23, 2023 Acuna joined the 40/40 club tonight, just the 5th player to do it. Remarkable season. Nevermind 40/40, he’s close to 40/70.
Omar Old-Timey Member Posted September 23, 2023 Posted September 23, 2023 Hard to believe the Jays have a better record than the Astros right now.
Masterbather Verified Member Posted September 23, 2023 Posted September 23, 2023 Been waiting all season for San Diego to finally make a run at the mediocre third wildcard spot in the National League, and they finally make a run when it's about a week or two too late lol.
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted September 23, 2023 Posted September 23, 2023 Reds are NOT making to post season
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted September 23, 2023 Posted September 23, 2023 ORIOLES suck, fire Hyde. f*** yes Perfect day in the standings for the Jays! We win while Tampa, Baltimore, Houston and Seattle all lose (conceding that Texas has to win in order for Seattle to lose)

I mean, their "run" has just been sweeping two of the worst teams in the leagues

We win while Tampa, Baltimore, Houston and Seattle all lose (conceding that Texas has to win in order for Seattle to lose) While I like to see the Orioles lose I do want them to lock up the division against Tampa in case we need a softened Tampa team. Besides, I'd rather the horseshoe fall out of the Orioles' ass in the postseason. Also not sure I would rather have Texas ahead of Seattle. I'd rather have Seattle but I think it's not realistic for Texas to fail at this point.
John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted September 23, 2023 Author Posted September 23, 2023 I mean, their "run" has just been sweeping two of the worst teams in the leagues San Diego has a better run differential than Milwaukee, Philly and Arizona. They are not a bad team. AZ doesn't even have a positive run diff. Some serious smoke and mirrors happening there while San Diego takes it up poop chute
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted September 23, 2023 Posted September 23, 2023 Caminero debuting tonight as the Rays DH.

Grant77 Old-Timey Member Posted September 24, 2023 Posted September 24, 2023 This Mariners play by play guy is absolutely horrendous, probably the worst I've ever heard. He's like Hawk Harrelson on steroids. Loses it for routine plays and calls every player by their first name. That's OK sometimes like when Shulman does it, but the guy lacks professionalism to a huge degree.

glory Old-Timey Member Posted September 24, 2023 Posted September 24, 2023 Rangers win, so that helps the Jays. Still 1.5 games up on the Mariners. Royals about to choke to the Astros but them winning 1 in the series is already better than I expected.
Grant77 Old-Timey Member Posted September 24, 2023 Posted September 24, 2023 Luis Torrens hits a routine grounder right to short to end the game. "LINE DRIVE!!! AND IT'S.....*sigh*....thrown to first. Too funny.

Is the order in the west determined first and then the order of the wild card or are they all considered tied for a wild card and there's a three-way tie break?
