This is a great pick-up by the Guardians. I would really like to know if the Blue Jays were planning on claiming him if he made it to us. I thought he would be a great fit for us.

 

I could be wrong here but when a player gets placed on release waivers, all teams have two days to place a claim. Then the claim is just awarded to the lowest ranked team that claimed him. So it’s possible they made a claim but just didn’t get him.

 

Interestingly though, Laureano could choose to refuse the claim and try his luck in free agency. Doubt he does that

I think Cleveland is a better avenue to consistent playing time then the Jays anyway. So, I suspect Laureano is good with it.

Yeah probably, though they’re far enough back they probably don’t make the postseason. It’s too bad, he’d be a damn good bench piece on a playoff team

Imagine having had the two greatest players of a generation, two of the greatest players of all time, and watching it all amount to nothing. The more they tried the more they failed. This losing streak after being buyers at the deadline is the perfect cherry on top of their s*** sundae.

I’ve been saying, Angelos sucks. Didn’t realize the son sucks too. I KNEW they wouldn’t add anything significant at the deadline.

 

People underestimate the significance of meddlesome owners like Angelos and Arte Moreno.

 

Lets see if the Os pony up this offseason because there’s 0 reason for them to be stingy again.
