Did you not read about what just happened with the Yanks and Rizzo??

This wouldn’t be the first time Springer played injured

Yeah good point.

but MLB does have strict return-to-play guidelines on concussions along with every players baseline neurocognitive testing on file to compare current tests they undertake when on the concussion DL even if they don't complain of any symptoms. They take new baseline tests every spring.

Yeah its definitely unfounded, Domingo German would never cheat

You think everyone cheats lol. You used that as an excuse for the Rays early success this season.

I think if his concussion was still an issue, this would have been brought up earlier this season. He wouldn't have been playing all the way till this point. The Jays and MLB wouldn't let any ballplayer play injured with a concussion.

Could possibly be some reasons for his struggles this season, though I don't think it should be an excuse to explain his poor play. He's an aging, injury prone 33-year-old outfielder.

The Blue Jays and MLB wouldn't let any players play with a concussion. We're already in August. If side effects from the concussion he suffered last October were still an issue, they would have been addressed in ST or earlier this season.

Sorry, I thought he was meaning Springer got shaken up durian the recent Seattle series. I didn’t watch all the games.

But also, we have seen guys that were never the same after a concussion. Off the top of my head Dalton Pompey. So maybe it’s lingering effects and he’ll never be the same. Will be interesting to see how Rizzo looks next year

I suspect brain injuries take a long time to fully heal. One can be symptom free in 10 days, and cleared to play, but that doesn't mean full healing. Hitting a moving target at 90+ MPH is hard.

How do they let him play 46 games with a conk?

Yankees have low key become a trash-tier organization.

They haven’t done anything right in a while. Remember when they used to just have a stable of studs in the pen and the game was over in that sixth? Not anymore

Yup, some players might never be the same after a concussion agreed. It's tough to point his struggles this season on his concussion last September given his age already and decline, but it could be a possibility.

Hamels retired today. Waino end of season, Greinke also possibly.

WAR totals:

Hamels - 51.6, 2698 IP

Waino - 47.6, 2630 IP

Greinke - 66.0, 3353.2 IP

Greinke 99% a HOF. Waino and Hamels bubble guys, probably not.

Anyone know why another Friday with not all teams playing (SF & OAK) and a one super early game (Braves) on a Friday??

I'm not explaining it to you anymore.

That’s why they have other testing they do to clear a player to play when they are symptom free. They do baseline testing every spring, and after a concussion stint on the IL, they redo those tests, compare results against baseline and that can show a deficit in information processing, indicating that the brain has not yet fully recovered, even in the absence of symptoms.

Just getting started. On the cusp of Superstardom

No doubt.

He’ll be great just in time for the Royals to trade him to an org that isn’t an embarrassment, because they won’t want to pay him

This is straight up sad

It doesn't even look like he's making an effort.

Is he just that scared of trying to run hard to avoid injury?

Sad because...

The third base coach sent him?

That he slowed down rounding third?

The Yankees are playing him knowing full well he can't run and can strain his hammy at any time?

Alejandro Kirk can beat him in a footrace even given GS a head start?

All of the above?

:P
