What are the chances that Luis Arrez challenges .400 this year?

I'd say very slim, that'd be amazing to see this day in age.

If it doesn’t come with, idk, 10hr… it’s pretty meh

I have an understanding what sells, Spanky. .400/2 doesn’t sell

wRC+ 157 entering his prime... I Said Good Day!

“Taking it” and achieving a legendary feat are separate things

Shifting the goal posts as per usual, the guy walks more than he strikes out with decent gap power, only you could think a player like that isn't valuable AF.

Wade Boggs routinely put up 8 WAR with single digit homerun numbers. I think he did 8 WAR with 3 homers in '89

Ironically it's Arraez's baserunning that is knocking down his WAR significantly. He is at like -5 already. I think with good baserunning he'd be on track for 7-8 WAR.

He is the worst baserunner in baseball... He also has only scored 21 runs while getting on base the most in baseball. Weird.

Kershaw 2023

10.9 K/9

ERA 3.25

xFIP 3.03

1.6 fWAR

8 starts this year allowing 2 runs or less

Getting paid half what Sherzer, Degrom and Verlander are getting paid

That's just the home town discount though, nice for the Dodgers.

Folks on MLB Network discussing whether he'll stay on 1 year deals with the Dodgers until retirement or if a team like the Rangers could woo him away with a more lucrative 2-3 year deal and be back home to finish his HOF career.

They tried this off season and he didn't do it, he's very loyal to the Dodgers which is nice to see.

It really is. I'd rather see him spend his whole career there.

Pretty low, but would be cool if he won the batting title, as it would be the first time anyone had won it in consecutive years when switching leagues.

Also, should Bo win the batting title in the AL this year, he and pops would become the first father/son combo to win batting titles.

I actually didn’t know Julio Teheran was alive until last week either. Fond memories

Former No. 5 prospect in all of baseball!

Taking this question to the new gambling thread!

That's just procedure, he was never going to get back before 60 days, it was inevitable.

Like I said...

As I’ve said, if you can have DeGrom healthy for the playoffs, he’s worth it for that alone. Looks like they can get there without him

They won’t make the playoffs

MLB.com in 2011 had Hellickson #2 haha

Trout - Hellickson - Harper

These were the Drabek, Lawrie, Arencibia days. Toronto's farm was sort of stacked. Sanchez, d'Arnaud, Thames, Syndergaard, Wojo, Grant's favourite prospect Zach Stewart, future #4 workhorse Decklyn McGueer, handsome Jake, Henderson Alvarez of future fleeting dominance, Deck McGuire 2.0 aka Chadley Jonkins, and who could forget perennial gold glove candidate Adeiny ECHavarrrrrrrrreeeeeeeeyaaaaa!!!!!!!!!!!

What a farm system!!!

There was some pretty great depth.

I really wish Henderson Alvarez' career had worked out. He had that one amazing season where he threw 3 CGSO. It would have been so cool to have a guy dominating while striking out 5/9IP. He could have been Beuhrle's heir.

He's like Pepe le Pew where people mistake him for a cat but eventually they realize he just stinks.

The Elly De La Cruz era starts tonight

His #'s are nuts. Hitting for monster power and his fastest sprint time clocked in the minors would be #1 in MLB.

Reds are 27-33.

Think they can be a fun team to watch down the stretch and maybe make some noise next season as a sleeper team.
