C Carson Kelly of the D-backs will be out a while, Looks like Moreno might be their starter right out of the gate.

Arizona Diamondbacks catcher Carson Kelly has suffered a fractured right forearm, manager Torey Lovullo told reporters on Tuesday. Lovullo didn't say how long Kelly would be sidelined with the injury, but it figures to be a lengthy absence. Kelly suffered the injury on Monday when he was struck by a pitch during a spring training game against the White Sox.

It seems like Atlanta is disgusted by his defense. They must not want a defensive liability at SS given the shape of their team. If he's not the starting SS, there is really no other position for him on the roster.

RIP Grissom buyers in fantasy.

I'm guessing he will start getting some CF/LF reps in the minors as that looks like their weakest position on the MLB team.

Did you read that on his D, or guessing?

This is what I found...

Atlanta wants Grissom to keep working on his defense at shortstop but also wants Braden Shewmake to show that his improved hitting in camp wasn't a small-sample fluke, so the solution will be for both to start every day at Gwinnett but rotate where they play out in the field. Orlando Arcia's starting assignment at shortstop in the majors seems fairly tenuous, so if either prospect gets off to a hot start at Triple-A and seems ready to handle a full-time gig in the majors, a quick promotion remains very possible. Grissom did display progress with his glove in camp under the tutelage of Ron Washington and went 13-for-35 (.371) at the plate with a 2:4 BB:K, and he remains the most likely long-term solution for the club at shortstop.

I’d guess he’s probably not watching the WBC so he missed it

No I folowoed it, just hadnt heard the exact time frame mentioned. When he first got hit they said it was broken, uncertain recovery and surgery was needed. The release for his 2+ month time frame just officially came out a few hours ago.

The time frame had been speculated earlier just based on history as 8-10 weeks. Yes that's similar to 2+ months.

Cardinals right-hander Adam Wainwright will open the season on the injured list due to a groin strain, manager Oli Marmol announced to the team’s beat this morning (Twitter link via Derrick Goold of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch). Wainwright was healthy enough to toss four innings of one-run ball for Team USA in its semi-final victory over Cuba in the World Baseball Classic earlier this week, but he suffered this new injury in the weight room two days later.

Or...you could just not get mad at anybody. Accept that baseball is a business, the Jays are one of the teams reinvesting revenues into a robust payroll, and you'll have plenty of opportunity to see the team play in another 160 regular season games.

Or you could be like me and wait for Spanky to post links to one of those shady websites that stream all the games for free.
