Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted March 3, 2023 Posted March 3, 2023 Old man Scherzer needs to get with the times and speed things up out there.
Laika Community Moderator Posted March 3, 2023 Posted March 3, 2023 Catchers probably need to plan on being completely set around the 8 second mark. Looks like the catcher was only in position and calm with like 2 seconds left on the clock there. Possibly Max took a while to decide on the pitch
JaysAllMighty Old-Timey Member Posted March 3, 2023 Posted March 3, 2023 What's the problem? Read the comments on that twitter post.... LOL
Krylian Old-Timey Member Posted March 3, 2023 Posted March 3, 2023 Read the comments on that twitter post.... LOL Lol. Twitter is just packed with logical intelligent people. Not a bunch of mouth breathers at all.
wilko Old-Timey Member Posted March 3, 2023 Posted March 3, 2023 Read the comments on that twitter post.... LOL I'm good. I'd rather not ruin my weekend.

I'm sorry man - but I don't think anyone believes the comment section of Twitter or Facebook represents anything of value. It is a f***ing cesspool and collection of morons.

Krylian Old-Timey Member Posted March 3, 2023 Posted March 3, 2023 Everyone is stupid if they don't see it your way... smart take! Didn't say that at all. There are people who's take I agree with, but they express it in such an idiotic way that they lose all credibility. Twitter is not where you go for a well thought out logical exchange of ideas.

philly30 Verified Member Posted March 4, 2023 Posted March 4, 2023 If you're a kid with a short attention span it fits the bill for you. A baseball game with thinking and strategy is not for you so you just want rush rush action. Bringing up extremes like Dolis is a poor argument. I appreciate all the nuances of the game in a relaxed atmosphere. The game was never intended to include a clock that will penalize players. Where are the historical statistics for that? I am not trying to convince anyone but I will sure expose the stupidity of it all. Walking around the mound for 2 minutes between pitches is not strategy, it is a waste of time but I think in the ninth inning no pitch clock would be fine
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted March 4, 2023 Posted March 4, 2023 RIP shift ban. So they moved their LF to shallow right Not against the rules More or less risky than moving an infielder from the left side to right??
Deadpool Old-Timey Member Posted March 4, 2023 Posted March 4, 2023 So they moved their LF to shallow right Not against the rules More or less risky than moving an infielder from the left side to right?? Probably more, 'cause if a ball is hit to the LF corner, that's a 3B or inside the park HR depending on the speed of the runner.
connorp Old-Timey Member Posted March 4, 2023 Posted March 4, 2023 So they moved their LF to shallow right Not against the rules More or less risky than moving an infielder from the left side to right?? I’d wager it’s in next years rule changes.
Krylian Old-Timey Member Posted March 4, 2023 Posted March 4, 2023 I’d wager it’s in next years rule changes. It's going to get to the point where they'll paint rings on the field and force the corresponding fielder to be in said ring until the pitch comes out of the pitchers hand.
Spanky__99 Old-Timey Member Posted March 4, 2023 Posted March 4, 2023 Uhmm, teams played Gallo last season with 5 OF'ers from CF to RF last year, this isn't new.
Krylian Old-Timey Member Posted March 4, 2023 Posted March 4, 2023 Uhmm, teams played Gallo last season with 5 OF'ers from CF to RF last year, this isn't new. Not new. I think the point is that they've spent all this energy focusing on the infield shift but didn't really take into account an outfield shift or re-configuration. Does MLB just not care or was it an oversight on their part.

connorp Old-Timey Member Posted March 4, 2023 Posted March 4, 2023 "tenderness" is a nice way to put it haha No matter what, seems they’ll shut him down. Obviously I have a vested interest but regardless, it’s cool to see any 19yo pitching in mlb and I’d root for it even if he wasn’t on all my fantasy teams

Obviously I have a vested interest but regardless, it’s cool to see any 19yo pitching in mlb and I’d root for it even if he wasn’t on all my fantasy teams It's too bad But a good reminder that sometimes taking it easy on really young prospects is a good thing Who knows how he trained in the off-season. May he threw too much, thinking he could win a spot Hopefully it's just a short no throw period and recovery

Does MLB just not care or was it an oversight on their part. Having to deploy four infielders on the dirt already eliminates the most extreme outfield shifting which was deploying four outfielders Last year teams would have had three infielders to the right of 2B and four outfielders against Gallo The picture above is much easier to hit against for a guy like Gallo Not to mention on most teams that shallow OF in RF has no infielders skills so they probably wouldn't have high success rates on scooping up hard grounders cleanly and making that throw
Spanky__99 Old-Timey Member Posted March 4, 2023 Posted March 4, 2023 Will Smith signed with the Rangers, he was a lefty I hoped the Jays picked up. Well, depends what he signed for of course.
