I actually 100% believe him

I sent Jim the back part of the agreement I had to do before the producer called me. Background check and all that. Couldn’t give him first part as it had private info. So he can believe it or not. Thanks though. Now I just have to convince someone to do it:)

If I go on, I’ll definitely plug this board so it’s relevant:)

Former cool guy in hs/college, now socially awkward and spends his social time here lol. If I’m not talking with hot girls overseas

I won't relate or feel sorry for you. Stop that.

If I’m not talking with hot girls overseas

Reminds of one of my "favourite" offensive jokes that I don't mind sharing here as you are all a bunch of degenerates...

Guy is at a Thai resort in a swim up bar. Sees a total Thai hotty that is moving in closer to him...he thinks "don't get a hard on don't get a hard on!" But she did...

I only share this joke as an example of the type of horrific offensive humour one should never discuss or share on the interweb. Please take a moment to reflect.

edit...forgot to "quote" favourite

Video shows up to 96 from the right and 92 from the left. I don’t know how hard Pat Vendeitte threw but doubt he was 90 from both sides.

I don't even think Venditte threw 88

Are you allowed to change hands during the inning? I’m guessing they wouldnt allow a glove on the field, so you’d have to stop the game each time you wanted to change hands.

He looks solid as a RHP already. This amphibious pitcher might be the best one yet!

He's got a glove that will fit both hands. I believe the rule is that he must pick a side before the batter does (in the case of a switch hitter).

Ah, custom glove makes sense

This is a good read. Would be really frustrating for an informed player like Thompson to hear the team win with arguments he knows the team knows aren’t valid, but will sway the arbitrators. Same thing happened with Milwaukee arguing that Burnes contributed to them missing the playoffs last year.

I'm more impressed with how his hat stays on his head.

After over 150 years of baseball, kind of surprised that this switch pitcher thing is just now getting traction. Babe Ruth was a natural righty but decided to do everything baseball related lefty. Now imagine a switch hitting, switch pitching outfielder like Ruth. He'd have just made a mockery of the game. I get hitting only from the opposite side because that kind of makes sense in baseball. Plus it's sort of like a slapshot and a lot of people shoot from their weak side in hockey. But I really don't get only throwing from your weak side, barring an injury. If your weak hand is strong enough to pitch competitively in baseball, you should be even better from your strong side and might as well use both.

I was an amateur boxer back in my college days and I could hit as hard with my left really as my dominant right ride. But throw a baseball, and it’s like a 7yo girl. You need one of those Mickey Mantle dads having the kid throw both ways at 4yo

I have the advantage of throwing like a 7yo girl with my dominant hand. I could field and hit well enough when I played, but f*** was my throwing arm pathetic.

Yeah, just one of those things. I never threw hard and played 2nd in hs. Even when I got strong and lifted, just couldn’t throw hard. All built and muscular, my 11yo skinny son was literally throwing harder

It's the finesse part of it.

Switch hitting doesn't necessitate using much finesse from either side of the plate. Even if you are a plus hitter from both sides who can, say, serve specific pitches into the opposite field at will... the finesse required pales in comparison to the specialization and feel needed to consistently execute offspeed pitches or hit your spots.

I think the only way to make it work and train each arm adequately would be to basically double your throwing time. Like if a normal P throws 7 hours per week, you need to throw 7 hours per week on each arm.

It would be funny to sign your switch pitching kid up for two travel ball teams and make him a RHP on one and a LHP on the other.

Wait - do you not follow a lot of baseball?

I thought this was pretty interesting. I think most would assume that TB has had a lot more success over the years than Arizona (based on recency bias as Arizona obviously had a lot more success early on). I think Arizona's success has been a lot more up and down, but in the end, they've had similar success. Arizona is certainly on the rise again.

I’ve never seen a custom glove made to fit both hands, no. However, it makes a lot of sense, just never spent a second thinking about it

Edit: if you mean talking a time out to switch out something sure, but didn’t know how they’d feel about changing hands all the time if you had to

I would render a guess that out of people who consider themselves "baseball fans" - I mean people who feel as though they follow baseball, less than 2% would not be familiar with Pat Venditte, his custom glove the the rules surrounding how he pitched. I mean - he pitched for the Jays...
