Surgery should have taken care of the spur so that shouldnt be a concern in 2023. Did he have chroinc elbow issues in years past?

Bassit > Stripling, Varsho > Gurriel by a longshot, Moreno barely played last year so .... cant really say they are better or worse since they still have 2 all star caliber catchers. One could easily argue that Varsho is > than Teo depending on how you value power vs defense.

 

Swanson > whatever shitstain they were going to have at the front and middle of the pen.

 

I don't think it's a stretch to say the Jays are better than 2022 at all. Run prevention counts the same as runs scored, and the power loss isn't substantial. The defensive improvements are massive.

Maybe my english was hard for you to comprehend. You don't trade one of the best pitching prospects in all of baseball for something like that. Stop being a fanboy and look at the trade objectively. You should be getting a much more rounded player for Moreno. Varsho projects for 3.1 fWAR next year, could easily be outproduced by Moreno.

The thing that i think of immediately is that Gurriel had no value. He is a sub .800ops hitter whose is BRUTAL at defense. Most teams that put a slug in LF but he usually has value as a big hitter. Gurriel has none of that..... He is not a big loss at all.

 

Moreno Hurts because thats who i saw as my #1 catcher but with Kirk and Jansen he was expendable and we are still set up really well behind the plate.
