There's plenty of things wrong with him playing. If he starts 2 games out of 7 ... yeah, okay. But 5 or 6 out of 7 is a joke. He brings nothing to the table offensively, defensively .... the only plus to him is running from 1st or 3rd or 2nd to home ... so essentially he's a pinch runner. Too bad Zimmer is a better pinch runner and a better defender. I'd rather them punt Tapia into the sun, keep Zimmer and bring up someone else to fill the time until Atkins can land a real left handed bench bat.

They finally cut bait with Morontoyo, maybe they're ready to do the same with Goldilocks.

Yeah with the current roster, if they don't want to play both catchers at once and want to use DH as a revolving door of rest days for their regulars, then Biggio needs to be the everyday utility player. When Gurriel is DH, then Biggio is in LF. When Vlad is DH, then Biggio at 1B. Etc. The issue is when Springer needs a blow, but either live with Zimmer there in that spot or might as well use Biggio there. Not like Tapia is a great defensive CF.

Basically, Tapia shouldn't be on this team, so the fact that he's in the lineup at all is a problem. My guess/fear is that this is a 2016 Justin Smoak situation where they see Tapia having some type of breakout potential with the bat and wanting to see it through. Otherwise his playing time makes no sense at all.

Sounds like Ortega to me. ;)

This thread should be locked. Don't like our new manager on the chopping block before he even has a chance. :(

His firing is only a matter of time. Whether it's next week or ... 3 seasons from now. Get on the train before it pulls out of the station

Montoyo can manage Buffalo.

Changed the lineup after they scored 8 runs....

I think this lineup makes more sense but yea he could have waited for another woeful offensive performance to make the change.

Same W-L% now as Montoyo had!!!

Not an upgrade....

With all due respect to Schneider, I was really hoping the Jays would hire a manager with big-league experience. I realize he's only an interim manager, but that's usually what teams would do when they're out of contention. Jays are still in the thick of things. If they do make the playoffs, it would have been nice to have a skipper with playoff experience.

John Schneider is, and always will be, a .500 manager.

Why’s that?

Banda and Romo late in a 1 run game... yeesh!

That s*** is not acceptable. I hated dumbtoyo for it, now we are reliving that crap with Schneider, unbelievable.

I think we need to give him more than two games. At least we've discovered Banda is definitively not an MLB pitcher. His stuff isn't even fixable it's just not good, at all.

Old board meme from a stunned **** who used that phrase repeatedly to try and defend that AJ Burnett wasn’t a good starter

Yeah he used to have better stuff. His velo and stuff, visually, is not that impressive right now. DFA

Jeez I even spent a few years on the old board and don’t remember this one

I'm alright with it in that situation. Do you burn Garcia or Romano in a losing effort? I personally wouldn't. I want them available for today where we might be up. And I think I'd also want them available for tomorrow with Castillo pitching, would be a good idea to plan for needing atleast 4 arms to follow him. So now, both of them will be able to throw an inning today and tomorrow.

i was okay-ish with Banda to the lefty to end the inning, but dont think he should have been starting the next one.

Agree. End of the day it doesn’t matter because the offense did jack s***. Bats need to wake the f*** up these next 3 games
