He's having a pretty excellent season and had one last year, his first two full years of play. Sounds good for Braves

He has an awful contract but he's pretty decent and fills a need so there's some room to get creative there. But the contract is so bad I'm not sure anyone would even take it on for free. So they would either throw in salary (doesn't seem like their MO to throw in much) or we could expand the package that we get. Maybe we could get Syndergaard (new #5) Silseth (good AAA depth) and a couple mil in addition to Igelsias for some fringe prospects with 40-man roster concerns.

Meh. We're in a stocked up AL East. We don't want to just keep burning years. The perennial contender is fools gold in this Division. Bosox going through that now. Syndergaard's stuff blows now. I get you are only eating money. Iglesias is solid. Nobody expected 2 top prospects for Berrios last year. We'll see. Agree lots of time left.

This is an interesting trade.

 

-Brewers get a Hader replacement in Rogers before he hits FA at the end of the year. Then they get two prospects and a wild card reliever on top of it.

-Padres get a year and a half of Hader.

 

Weird to see two contenders make a trade like this but given the strengths of each team I think it makes a lot of sense for both sides.

As much I wish the jays can get a lh hitter, they need to improve the starting rotation or bullpen. If no they will not get far in the playoffs.
