Meh. We're in a stocked up AL East. We don't want to just keep burning years. The perennial contender is fools gold in this Division. Bosox going through that now. Syndergaard's stuff blows now. I get you are only eating money. Iglesias is solid. Nobody expected 2 top prospects for Berrios last year. We'll see. Agree lots of time left.

Syndergaard is just a #4/5 like Quintana would be. He doesn’t have to be a horse in the playoffs he would just have to cover innings the rest of the year.

Iglesias would be one of the best relievers on the market if made available. He just has a really expensive contract

I’d rather keep prospects and eat salary. Taking on some of the Iglesias money would keep the prospect cost low.

I think it would be fair to point out that Tiedmann has moved up much higher than that on other lists.

On the MLB list Tiedmann is 61st and Orelvis is 34th. So it doesn't really look line bias to me at all.

Tiedemann is 33rd in BA's listing, Orelvis dropped off the top 100... but none of those guys from NY are in the top 100... :P

Iglesias would be a good get. Plus he can throw sunflower seeds with the best of them.

For Syndergaard on the other hand.....

Seth Johnson seems like a decent pitching prospect to get. Mancini isn’t much of a guy.

Not really, O's suppressed their RHB's by moving the fence back, dude can hit. SJ's meh... that's a song of a return.

Mancini is good for what, maybe 1 WAR at most for rest of season?

And? The O's just should've stand pat in a WC race is all I'm saying. The return was s***.

f***in lolll. Arte Moreno is a clown and the Angels won’t ever win with him at the helm. He is constantly interfering with the GMs ability to build a proper team.

Are you looking at the correct Seth Johnson?

I'll retract a bit, he could be something, but usually guys that change from position player to pitcher doesn't end up well, he's been decent could be a guy. I'm kind of looking at it as a team still theoretically in it. Nothing to lose sleep over... :P

What the Orioles got in return is what makes this trade compelling for me. Johnson was the No. 58 prospect in the ZiPS Top 100 prior to the season, and both ZiPS and my colleague Eric Longehagen ranked him as Tampa’s second-best pitching prospect. Obviously, he’s a lot riskier given that he’s having Tommy John surgery, but he still represents real talent who could make an impact on the major league roster at some point, not a 27-year-old middle reliever in A-ball. And while Johnson will have to be added to the 40-man roster while he’s injured, I think he’s worth losing a spot. Baltimore also needs pitching depth in the minors, and McDermott, whom Eric recently valued as a 40 FV prospect, has real upside if his command issues can be ironed out.

The Orioles got legitimate prospects for two months of an average hitter. To me, that’s worth modifying the 2022 playoff dream slightly.

Seth is good... Your boys Jared Jones & Nick Garcia were position players prior to being drafted as SPs.. ;)
