I'm not a Trent Thornton fan by any means, but why the hell was he not brought in to replace Kikuchi when the score was 4-3? He's been remarkably better than Richards this season and can actually act as a long man, which for some reason Charlie was trying to do with Richards tonight.

I'm excited to watch Kikuchi play the Yankees so that Richards can come into the 3rd inning and get 35 pitches of rope for the third straight time.

I'm pretty sure his numbers when he has to go more than 1 inning are absolutely pathetic. For a team that relies mostly on numbers, they're pretty stupid on this one here.

Does Montoyo pre-plan that if Kikuchi sucks then he wants to make him look better by bringing in Richards in the same game? He has done this multiple times now. Bringing in Richards there made zero sense.

I normally think Charlie’s bullpen usage is pretty good, but yea the pen is pretty rested. A 2 run deficit isn’t a reason to put in richards. It’s too close.
