jays4life19 Old-Timey Member Posted June 6, 2022 Posted June 6, 2022 Going to take me a bit to get use to a proper GDT after a string of my s*** ones. Go Jays!
TwistedLogic Old-Timey Member Posted June 6, 2022 Author Posted June 6, 2022 Made some tweaks to my GDT template. I added a schedule snippet at the top that shows the most recent game, today's game and the next game. I also revamped the hot links section and added a whole new row of links. Here's the breakdown of the new suite of hot links: - Schedule: Link to Blue Jays schedule on MLB.com - Standings: Link to standings on MLB.com (I can switch this to FanGraphs playoff odds if preferred) - News: Link to one of my favorite Jays sites, Blue Jays Aggregator - Rumors: Link to MLBTR's home page - Video: Link to Blue Jays filter on MLB Film Room - Radio: Link to Blue Jays Aggregator radio feed - Podcasts: Link to Blue Jays Aggregator podcast player - Twitter: Link to official Blue Jays twitter - Reddit: Link to /r/torontobluejays - Instagram: Link to official Blue Jays Insta - Spotlight: Link to Blue Jays surface overview on Sportsnet.ca - Depth Chart: Link to FanGraphs' simple Blue Jays depth chart - Org Overview: Link to FanGraphs' deeply detailed Blue Jays depth chart - Payroll: Link to FanGraphs' payroll breakdown (I can switch this to Cot's if preferred) - Transactions: Link to Blue Jays transactions feed on MLB.com - MLB Stats: Link to Blue Jays WAR leaders (link points to hitters, can switch to pitchers using the tabs at the top) - MILB Stats: Link to Blue Jays minor league wRC+ leaders (can switch to pitchers using the tabs at the top) - MILB Box Scores: Link to Blue Jays daily organizational box score tracker on MLB's prospect portal Let me know what you guys think and if you have any requests/feedback/something you'd like changed.

JaysAllMighty Old-Timey Member Posted June 6, 2022 Posted June 6, 2022 Great lineup tonight. Lets go Blue Jays
JFD Old-Timey Member Posted June 6, 2022 Posted June 6, 2022 Teo is gonna redeem himself with a HR hatty. I almost feel bad for anyone that didnt pick him today. 13 - 6 Jays win
Big BlueJay Verified Member Posted June 6, 2022 Posted June 6, 2022 Jano batting 9th today:confused: His hot streak appears to be over, coincidentally it stopped as soon as I picked him off the waiver wire. For all the HRs he's hit he's 0 for 12 in 3 games for my team. Another 0 for tonight and I'm giving up and dropping him again so he can go back to a bomb every game

Couple years back DJ was untouchable even for really good SP. Then people accepted a different reality. Now a 100+AB sample size stretched over a year (so under the radar for opposing teams), he’s untouchable again lol. Even while “en fuego” sub .300 OBP (matching his career norm) this year.

Even while “en fuego” sub .300 OBP this year. I just think, in this day and age, a pull hitter is incredibly easy to pitch around - just look at Gallo. While Jano is great, I think if something good comes along with him involved, you pull the trigger. Kirk's contact skills are insane (he has been the best hitter in MLB in the last 2 weeks; something obnoxious like 1.500 OPS) and sure his body might give in later on (to his credit, he has been losing weight), but he is talented and improved a lot defensively. All that said, unless Moreno comes to the majors and actually shows off he is capable of being all that he is in AAA, there is no way you trade either of your MLB catchers - especially because of how this team load manages. Look at Adley, he still has a lot to learn up here. You bring him up down the road or something when playoffs are locked for some games or early on next year. Otherwise, every 2/3 games, there's gonna be a hole in the C position of hitting + the possibility of Tapia DHing.

What exactly screams “change” to you besides the 70hr full-season pace? Unless you think that’s sustainable? All the other normal stats smell like DJ
John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted June 6, 2022 Posted June 6, 2022 Chapman has quietly had a pretty good couple of weeks. Last 14 days: .297/.422/.405 Last 7 days: .353/.476/.529 Probably not going to sustain that of course but just another Jay on a heater right now.
keggy Verified Member Posted June 6, 2022 Posted June 6, 2022 Kirk getting DH ABs on back to back days. Tapia must be hurt.
Big BlueJay Verified Member Posted June 6, 2022 Posted June 6, 2022 Kirk getting DH ABs on back to back days. Tapia must be hurt. Most likely the case, to assume that Montoyo just came upon the wisdom to play a guy hitting .450 with 4 hrs the past 2 weeks every day would end up making an ass of u and me

All the other normal stats smell like DJ 17.1% barrel rate since June 1 2021 And that's 111 batted balls events, meaning it's very "stable" because those things are 50% stable at 50 batted balls events. So really good evidence he has just figured out an approach for barreling baseballs. 17% barrels is like, Harper Stanton Yordan territory Obviously he doesn't have their other characteristics be but he has always shown above average raw power There is no reason to think that's he's NOT a 30+ homer catcher in a full season. That's incredibly rare. And he can play D!
JFD Old-Timey Member Posted June 6, 2022 Posted June 6, 2022 KC has the AL worst starting pitching and bullpen since May. Anything less than a sweep is failure
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted June 6, 2022 Posted June 6, 2022 KC has the AL worst starting pitching and bullpen since May. Anything less than a sweep is failure 2/3 is fine. Can’t expect to sweep every bad team.

Jays24 Old-Timey Member Posted June 7, 2022 Posted June 7, 2022 Looks like the game is delayed by an hour at the most
