Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted April 24, 2022 Posted April 24, 2022 Jeremy Pena is better than Carlos Correa Right now?

JaysAllMighty Old-Timey Member Posted April 24, 2022 Posted April 24, 2022 Cavan biggio followed in his father's footsteps and played for the Astros today how long before he's back in the minors?

connorp Old-Timey Member Posted April 24, 2022 Posted April 24, 2022 how long before he's back in the minors? Needs its own thread. Can Smallgio stick? O/U on the demotion

bronson44 Verified Member Posted April 24, 2022 Posted April 24, 2022 That was 97 below the zone. Just gotta tip your cap.
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted April 24, 2022 Posted April 24, 2022 That was 97 below the zone. Just gotta tip your cap. Yeah not really a terrible pitch. Ah well. Joe Siddal had a point, maybe Romano should be pitching up in the zone more than down.
Krylian Old-Timey Member Posted April 24, 2022 Posted April 24, 2022 Oh well... He was gonna blow a save eventually.
RobinThicc Verified Member Posted April 24, 2022 Posted April 24, 2022 Sucks. Romano was due to blow one though
Ray Verified Member Posted April 24, 2022 Posted April 24, 2022 Props to Peña for getting to that pitch. 97 bottom of the zone. Kid is good. Still have yet to lose a series and it’s almost the end of April. Let’s beat up on the Red Sox at home now.
BigCecil Old-Timey Member Posted April 24, 2022 Posted April 24, 2022 Series win! Tough loss today but consolation prize is people will stop talking about a consecutive save streak for Romano. He has been impressive but I found that annoying. So many other more meaningful things to talk about.
Eat My Shatkins Verified Member Posted April 24, 2022 Posted April 24, 2022 4-0-1 in the 5 series to start the season. And that's with two big bats out and several others struggling. Hopefully the offense comes to life at home and they start putting up tons of crooked numbers.

Deadpool Old-Timey Member Posted April 25, 2022 Posted April 25, 2022 I bet the consensus around here wouldn't be "That sucks, but you can't win 'em all!" if JF54 were still posting
Masterbather Verified Member Posted April 25, 2022 Posted April 25, 2022 We've been skating on thin ice with these wins. One of them was bound to get away from us, and frankly, this was likely the one; it always felt fleeting. The frustrating part was all the resources used to try and secure this win going into a series with the Red Sox. Need Berrios to be solid and I think he will give us 5-6 innings and then we have our true ace in game 2, so I feel alright.
polar bear Verified Member Posted April 25, 2022 Posted April 25, 2022 Just feels like that spot will be the one that makes the difference in the game. New opposing pitchers game plan, let Vlad + Bo get on base, just pitch to everyone else Why on earth wouldn’t they want to pitch to Bo.?
John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted April 25, 2022 Author Posted April 25, 2022 My gut was correct, almost 2 runs of total impact from the umpshow. Nowhere near as bad as Angel Hernandez yesterday though... that was atrocious. 77% accuracy on called strikes.

Nowhere near as bad as Angel Hernandez yesterday though... that was atrocious. 77% accuracy on called strikes. Look at those first 2 impactful missed calls. Same inning. If those calls were made correctly, Jays almost certainly win the game.

Even #2 had been made right, the #1 situation may not have even occured.
Effit Old-Timey Member Posted April 25, 2022 Posted April 25, 2022 We all know the difference a game makes.. let’s hope the ump gifting the Astros that win doesn’t come back to haunt us.
